Operation specifications, daily maintenance, and common misconceptions analysis of laser amplitude measuring instruments

1、 Operating standards
Equipment debugging and calibration
Before starting up, it is necessary to check whether the laser window protector, sensors, and connecting wires are intact to avoid wear or looseness. Use a standard vibration source (such as a vibration calibration table) for sensitivity calibration to ensure that the range covers the frequency to be measured (such as 0.1-10kHz). Contact sensors require a rigid connection to the surface of the sample, while non-contact (laser) sensors require adjusting the beam alignment to the vibration sensitive area and maintaining a stable distance.
Measurement environment control
When measuring, it is necessary to stay away from strong electromagnetic fields (such as motors and transformers), use shielded cables, and ground them. When the ambient temperature fluctuates greatly, it is necessary to balance the instrument with the ambient temperature before measuring. Avoid direct sunlight or high temperature environments to prevent damage to photosensitive components.
data acquisition and processing
Set the sampling frequency to at least 2.56 times the highest frequency to be tested to avoid frequency aliasing. Repeat the measurement at least 3 times and take the average to reduce random errors. Real time observation of time-domain waveforms and spectrograms, identification of abnormal peaks (such as harmonics or interference signals), and necessary use of low-pass filtering or extended sampling time.
2、 Daily maintenance
Appearance and optical component cleaning
Wipe the laser emission window and sensor surface with a soft dry cloth, and it is strictly prohibited to scratch with hard objects. If there is dust on the surface, it can be brushed off with a brush or lightly wiped with a cloth to avoid scratching the lens.
Battery and Storage Management
Remove the battery when not in use for a long time to prevent leakage and corrosion of the machine core. Store in a dry, non corrosive gas environment to prevent component aging.
Regular performance verification
Conduct a comprehensive performance verification once a year, including parameters such as sensitivity and linearity. Check if the cable is damaged and if the sensor connection is secure.
3、 Common Misconceptions
Blindly pursuing high targets
Some users blindly choose large range and high-precision instruments in pursuit of "cutting-edge" technology, resulting in increased costs and insufficient or saturated sensitivity in actual use. Suitable models should be selected based on actual needs such as distance measurement range and accuracy requirements.
Neglecting environmental interference
Failure to isolate external vibration sources (such as other equipment, fans) or uncontrolled environmental temperature leads to measurement errors. An isolation platform should be used and measured in a stable environment.
Irregular operation
The contact sensor is not rigidly connected to the sample, or the distance of the non-contact sensor changes, introducing errors. It is necessary to ensure that the sensor is in contact with the surface of the sample or that the laser beam is stably aligned.
Improper maintenance
Disassembling the instrument and cleaning its interior by oneself resulted in irreversible damage. Avoid squeezing and falling, and follow the instructions for surface cleaning and storage management.
