Rice whiteness meterIt is a professional testing instrument used to detect the accuracy of rice processing. It measures the whiteness, transparency, and precision of rice based on optical principles by measuring the transmitted and reflected light of LED light irradiated on the sample. Compared with traditional whiteness meters that can only measure reflected light, this instrument can simultaneously measure reflected light and transmitted light, thus having higher accuracy. Mainly used in the fields of scientific research, breeding, storage, processing, and circulation of rice. By measuring the whiteness, transparency, and precision of rice, the processing accuracy of rice can be objectively evaluated, preventing excessive processing or substandard accuracy during rice milling, thereby contributing to the quality management of rice milling.
Rice whiteness meterSpecific maintenance points:
1、 Daily cleaning and pollution prevention
Sample room cleaning
Clean up immediately after operation: After each test is completed, use a soft dry cloth or specialized brush to remove residues such as rice bran and broken rice in the sample chamber, to avoid impurities accumulating and affecting the light path.
Avoid chemical corrosion: Do not use organic solvents such as alcohol and acetone to wipe to prevent damage to optical components (such as lenses and filters). It is recommended to use neutral detergent or a cotton cloth dipped in distilled water to gently wipe.
Dust protection: When not in use for a long time, it is necessary to cover the instrument with a dust cover to prevent dust from entering the optical system.
Injection port maintenance
Regularly check the injection port: If the injection port is found to be blocked or stuck with rice grains, use a fine needle or compressed air to gently unclog it to avoid forcefully disassembling and damaging the components.
Moisture proof treatment: After use in a humid environment, dry the water around the injection port with a dry cloth to prevent rice bran from getting damp and clumping.
2、 Optical system maintenance
Light source maintenance
Regularly replace light bulbs: Check the brightness of light sources (such as halogen lamps, LEDs) every 6-12 months based on usage frequency. If the brightness significantly decreases or flashes, it is necessary to replace the bulb of the same model in a timely manner to avoid affecting the detection accuracy.
Avoid frequent switching: When the light source is started, the current shock is large, and frequent switching will shorten its lifespan. It is recommended to use it continuously for no less than 30 minutes, or use a regulated power supply to reduce voltage fluctuations.
Lens and filter cleaning
Professional cleaning tool: Use specialized lens paper or cotton balls dipped in a small amount of distilled water, and use a spiral motion to wipe the surface of the lens from the center outward to avoid scratches.
Anti fingerprint contamination: Wear dust-free gloves during operation to prevent direct contact between fingers and optical components.
Regularly check the transmittance: If the detection data fluctuates abnormally, a spectrophotometer should be used to check the lens transmittance. If it is lower than 90%, it needs to be replaced.
3、 Mechanical component maintenance
Lubrication of transmission system
Regularly add lubricating oil: Every 3-6 months, add a small amount of silicone oil or special lubricating grease to moving parts such as the injection mechanism and sample disk rotating shaft to reduce wear and noise.
Avoid excessive lubrication: Excessive lubricating oil can easily adsorb dust and form sludge, so the amount should be controlled.
Sample disk inspection
Flatness calibration: If there are scratches or deformations on the surface of the sample disk, a micrometer is needed to test the flatness. If the deviation exceeds 0.1mm, a new disc needs to be replaced to prevent affecting the uniformity of rice grain distribution.
Anti static treatment: In a dry environment, the sample tray is prone to static electricity adsorption of rice bran. Anti static coating can be sprayed on the surface or cleaned with an anti-static brush.
4、 Electrical system maintenance
Power and grounding inspection
Usage of stabilized power supply: It is recommended to equip a stabilized power supply (such as UPS) to avoid voltage fluctuations (± 10% or more) that may damage the circuit board.
Grounding protection: Ensure that the instrument is well grounded to prevent static electricity or leakage from causing faults.
Circuit board cleaning
Dustproof and moisture-proof: Every 1-2 years, use compressed air to blow away the dust on the circuit board, with a focus on cleaning the heat sink, fan, and other parts. If the environment is humid, three proof paint (moisture-proof, anti mold, anti salt spray) can be sprayed on the surface of the circuit board.
Avoid live operation: Disconnect the power supply before cleaning to prevent short circuit or electric shock.
5、 Regular calibration and verification
Calibration of standard samples
Use national standard samples: Calibrate quarterly using standard rice samples with known whiteness (such as grade samples specified in the national standard GB/T 1354-2018) to ensure that the instrument reading deviates from the standard value by ≤± 1%.
Multi point calibration: Calibrate separately in the low, medium, and high whiteness ranges, covering the actual detection range.
third-party verification
Annual inspection: Send the instrument to a metrology institute or authorized institution for comprehensive testing, obtain calibration certificates, and ensure compliance with standards such as ISO/IEC 17025.
6、 Environmental management
Temperature and Humidity Control
Ideal environment: The instrument should be placed in an environment with a temperature of 10-30 ℃ and a humidity of ≤ 70% RH to avoid mold growth on optical components or short circuits on circuit boards caused by high temperature and humidity.
Dehumidification measures: During humid seasons (such as rainy season), dehumidifiers or desiccants (such as silica gel) can be used to keep the environment dry.
Shock and corrosion resistance
Avoid vibration: The instrument should be placed on a stable table, away from vibration sources such as punching machines and air compressors, to prevent mechanical vibration from affecting the stability of the detection.
Corrosion resistant gas: Keep away from chemical plants, laboratories, and other places that may produce corrosive gases (such as SO ₂, Cl ₂) to prevent metal parts from rusting.
