Performance characteristics of water quality sulfide acidification blowing instrument

The water quality sulfide acidification blowing instrument is suitable for the determination of sulfides in surface water, groundwater, domestic sewage, and industrial wastewater, in accordance with national standards《Designed in accordance with the requirements of GB/T16489-1996 "Determination of Sulfides in Water Quality - Methylene Blue spectrophotometric method" and "HJ/T60-2000 Determination of Sulfides in Water Quality - Iodometric method", this instrument can meet the pre-treatment requirements of experiments. It has the characteristics of simple operation, high sample uniformity, greatly reducing the damage of harmful gases, and processing a large amount of samples.

1.Constant temperature water bath heating method, uniform heating
2. Rotate the sample holder and install the sample on the front for easy operation
3. The nitrogen flow rate of each sample is independently controlled and adjusted or turned off
4. Needle valve gas flowmeter accurately controls and displays the total gas consumption

When measuring sulfides in water, pre-treatment of the water sample is the first step. Due to the color of the water sample, it contains suspended solids and certain reducing substances(such as sulfite, sodium thiosulfate, etc.) and dissolved organic matter all interfere with the determination of sulfides. Common pretreatment methods include zinc acetate precipitation filtration, acidification blowing method, or filtration acidification blowing method, depending on the specific condition of the water sample.

How to determine sulfides in water using a water quality sulfide blowdown instrument?
When measuring sulfides in water, pre-treatment of the water sample is the first step. The determination of sulfides in water quality is based on the color of the water sample, suspended solids, and certain reducing substances(such as sulfite, sodium thiosulfate, etc.) and dissolved organic matter all interfere with the determination of sulfides. Common pretreatment methods include zinc acetate precipitation filtration, acidification blowing method, or filtration acidification blowing method, depending on the specific condition of the water sample.

There are several methods for determining sulfides in water, including the following.
(1) The iodometric method can be found in the "Determination of Sulfides in Water Quality - Iodometric Method" (HJ/T 60-2000). The principle is that under acidic conditions, sulfides in the water sample react with excess iodine solution, and the remaining iodine is titrated with a standard solution of sodium thiosulfate. Based on the consumption of sodium thiosulfate solution, the content of sulfides is indirectly calculated.
(2) There are two types of spectrophotometry: direct colorimetric spectrophotometry and methylene blue spectrophotometry. Refer to "Determination of Sulfides in Water Quality by Direct Chromogenic Spectrometric Method" (GB/T 17133-1997) and "Determination of Sulfides in Water Quality by Methylene Blue Spectrometric Method" (GB/T, 16489-1996). The principle is to acidify the sample with sulfuric acid, convert sulfides into hydrogen sulfide, then absorb it with an absorption solution, measure the absorbance value at the characteristic wavelength with a spectrophotometer, and calculate the sulfide content in water. The absorption solution used for the former is a zinc acetate sodium acetate solution containing N, N-dimethyl-phenylenediamine and ammonium iron sulfate, with a characteristic wavelength of 665nm, forming a blue complex methylene blue. The absorption solution used for the latter is a hydrogen sulfide absorption color developer with a characteristic wavelength of 400nm.
