Semiconductor hot and cold stage: a key equipment for improving experimental efficiency
Date: 2025-03-11Read: 3
A semiconductor cooling table is a key device that utilizes the thermoelectric effect of semiconductors to achieve temperature control. The following is about its working principle:
Based on the Seebeck effect and Peltier effect. When two different conductors form a closed circuit, if the temperatures of the two joints are different, an electromotive force is generated in the circuit, which is the Seebeck effect; On the contrary, when current passes through a circuit composed of two different conductors, there will be heat absorption and release phenomena at the two joints, which is the Peltier effect. The cold and hot stage utilizes the Peltier effect to heat or cool semiconductor materials by controlling the direction and magnitude of the current.
Characteristics of semiconductor cooling and heating table equipment:
1. Rapid response: Adopting advanced temperature control technology and heat dissipation design, it can quickly reach the target temperature and maintain stability, greatly reducing the experimental time and improving testing efficiency.
2. High precision temperature control: It can achieve precise temperature control with minimal temperature fluctuations. For example, some cold and hot tables can achieve temperature control accuracy of ± 0.1 ℃ or even higher. This is crucial for temperature sensitive experiments and tests, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of test data.
3. Wide temperature range: It can generally work within a wide temperature range, from low to high temperature, to meet the needs.
4. Good stability and reliability: After careful design and rigorous testing, it has good stability and durability, and can work stably in long-term and large-scale temperature cycling tests, ensuring the reliability and repeatability of testing.
5. Flexible control method: Usually equipped with upper computer software control, users can easily set and adjust temperature parameters, heating rate, cooling rate, constant temperature time, etc. through the software interface. They can also monitor temperature change curves in real time for data analysis and processing.
Application fields of semiconductor hot and cold tables:
1. Materials science research: used to study the thermal properties of materials, such as thermal conductivity, thermal expansion coefficient, phase transition temperature, etc., as well as explore the changes in electrical, optical, mechanical, magnetic and other properties of materials at different temperatures. For example, studying the performance changes of high-temperature superconducting materials near their superconducting transition temperature provides a basis for the development of new materials.
2. Electronics and Semiconductor Industry: Testing and characterizing semiconductor materials, electronic devices, new energy materials, etc. to ensure their performance and reliability in different temperature environments. For example, detecting the electrical performance of semiconductor chips at different temperatures, evaluating their heat dissipation performance and stability.
3. Biomedical field: It can be used for experiments such as cell culture, enzyme activity determination, PCR amplification, etc., simulating the temperature environment inside the organism, and providing strong support for biomedical research. In addition, it can also be used for drug screening, preservation of biological samples, and other aspects.
4. Automotive parts testing: Simulating various weather conditions to test the durability and reliability of automotive parts can help improve the quality and safety of automobiles. For example, testing the performance of automotive engine components in high-temperature environments, as well as the physical properties of automotive tires, seals, and other components in low-temperature environments.
