Installation precautions for fixed gas alarms
Date: 2025-12-22Read: 1

The installation precautions for fixed gas alarms include the following aspects:

  1. Installation height and positionThe installation height should generally be around 150cm to facilitate daily maintenance by maintenance personnel. The installation location varies depending on the density of the gas being tested. For gases with a density lower than air, the probe should be installed at a distance of 30-60cm from the ceiling, facing downwards; On the contrary, the probe should be installed at a distance of 30-60cm from the ground, with the probe facing downwards.

  2. Environmental RequirementsAvoid installation in high temperature and high humidity environments, and ensure use within the temperature and humidity range. The alarm should be installed in a place that is easily visible and audible to the staff, and there should be no strong electromagnetic field around that affects the operation of the instrument. It should also be kept away from air flow disturbance areas such as ventilation openings and air conditioning vents.

  3. Installation firmnessRegardless of the installation method, it should be ensured to be securely fixed, avoiding vibration, dust, and water. The bracket should be installed horizontally, the sensor should be fixed downwards, the locking nut should be fully tightened, and the probe cover should be fully covered and tightened with screws to meet explosion-proof standards.

  4. Power supply and groundingThe ground wire of the power plug of the gas alarm controller should be grounded to avoid using the same power supply as large motor equipment, and a relatively clean and suitable power supply should be used as much as possible. The power supply should use explosion-proof switch mode power supply, and the grounding system should be independent and reliable.

  5. Debugging and maintenanceAfter installation and debugging, it is necessary to install a breathable waterproof cover to prevent rainwater from entering and damaging the probe. Fixed gas detection alarm devices should be calibrated at least once a year, and equipment that has been in use for more than 10 years should be replaced in a timely manner. After installation, strict debugging is required to verify system functionality, including alarm threshold settings, on-site gas calibration, and linkage system testing.

  6. Other precautionsGas detectors should be installed within a radius of 1 meter near valves, pipeline interfaces, gas outlets, or areas prone to leakage, while being careful not to affect the operation of other equipment. The cable laying adopts galvanized steel pipes or explosion-proof hoses, and the joints are sealed properly. The sampling system should be kept unobstructed to avoid liquid accumulation or foreign object blockage.

The above precautions integrate information from different sources to ensure that the fixed gas alarm can be installed correctly and play its due safety protection role.
