The WZZ-2B optical polarimeter is a precision analytical instrument widely used in the fields of medicine, food, chemical engineering, etc. It is used to measure the optical rotation of substances, and thus analyze and determine key parameters such as concentration, content, and purity of substances. The following are instructions for using this instrument, aimed at helping users better understand the operating methods and precautions of this instrument.
Before using the photoelectric polarimeter WZZ-2B, it is necessary to ensure that the instrument has been correctly installed in a dry, ventilated, and vibration free environment, and connected to a stable 220V AC power supply. If the power supply is unstable, it is recommended to connect an external AC electronic voltage regulator to ensure the normal operation of the instrument.
Turn on the power switch on the right side of the instrument, and the sodium light will turn on, but the light may not be stable at this time. Preheat for 5-15 minutes until the light is stable. After preheating, turn the light source switch to the DC position and enter the measurement interface.
Before measurement, the instrument needs to be zeroed using distilled water or other blank solvents. Place the test tube containing blank solvent into the sample chamber, cover the box lid, and press the "reset" button after the reading stabilizes. Note that if there are bubbles in the test tube, they should first float on the protruding neck. The misty water droplets on both ends of the smooth surface should be wiped dry with a soft cloth to avoid affecting the measurement results.
After the zero calibration is completed, take out the test tube, inject the sample to be tested into the test tube, place it in the same position and direction into the sample chamber, and cover the box lid. The instrument will automatically measure and display the optical rotation of the sample. Users can choose between automatic or manual measurement modes. In automatic measurement mode, the instrument will automatically measure three sets of data and display the average value. In manual measurement mode, users need to manually control the measurement process.
After the measurement is completed, the light source and power switch should be turned off in a timely manner, and the instrument should be cleaned and maintained properly. After the polarizing tube is used, the solution should be poured out in a timely manner, washed clean with distilled water, wiped dry, and stored properly. The optical lens should not come into contact with hard objects or be wiped directly by hand to avoid damaging the lens. It should be wiped with a soft cloth.
In addition, users should also pay attention to the influence of temperature on the optical rotation when using the WZZ-2B photoelectric polarimeter. For test samples with strict temperature requirements, the instrument and test sample should be placed in a constant temperature chamber at the specified temperature for at least 2 hours before measurement to maintain a constant temperature and avoid errors.
Mastering the usage method and precautions of the WZZ-2B optical polarimeter is of great significance for improving experimental efficiency and accuracy.
