Measurement method of skin moisture measuring instrument
Date: 2025-11-25Read: 0
Skin moisture measurement instruments are commonly used to evaluate the hydration and moisturizing status of the skin. The following are common methods for measuring skin moisture:
1. Conductivity method
Principle: This method is based on the principle of current conductivity. Moisture has good conductivity, so the more moisture the skin has, the stronger the conductivity of the current passing through it.
Measurement process: Place a conductivity sensor on the surface of the skin and calculate humidity by measuring the skin's conductivity.
Advantages: Simple, fast, suitable for large-area skin measurement.
Disadvantage: It is greatly affected by skin oils or other surface substances, which may lead to errors.
2. Resistance method
Principle: The resistance method determines humidity by measuring the resistance value of the skin. The higher the moisture content of the skin, the lower the resistance value.
Measurement process: The electrode contacts the skin, and the instrument determines humidity by measuring the resistance of the skin.
Advantages: Easy to operate, suitable for local measurement of the skin.
Disadvantage: It is also greatly affected by the oil on the surface of the skin.
3. Optical method
Principle: Based on the characteristics of skin reflection of light. Areas with better skin hydration usually reflect more light.
Measurement process: Contact the optical sensor with the skin and determine skin moisture based on the reflectivity of light.
Advantages: Non contact, easy to use, avoiding direct contact with the skin.
Disadvantages: May be affected by factors such as ambient light and skin pigmentation.
4. Capacitive method
Principle: Utilize the influence of skin surface moisture on capacitance. The change in moisture will alter the capacitance value between the skin and the capacitive sensor.
Measurement process: The capacitive sensor is placed close to the skin, and the humidity of the skin is determined by measuring the change in capacitance.
Advantages: Non invasive, will not cause damage to the skin.
Disadvantage: It may be affected by external factors such as temperature and humidity.
5. Thermal release method
Principle: The evaporation rate of moisture on the surface of the skin can be calculated by measuring the temperature changes of the skin. Moist skin has a lower evaporation rate.
Measurement process: The change in skin surface temperature is measured using an infrared thermal imager or temperature sensor to calculate humidity.
Advantages: No direct contact with the skin, suitable for measurement in larger areas.
Disadvantage: Sensitive to environmental temperature and humidity.
These methods all have their specific advantages and disadvantages. Depending on the application scenario and requirements, appropriate instruments and methods should be selected for measuring skin moisture.
