High frequency infrared carbon sulfur analyzer is a core equipment for accurately measuring carbon and sulfur content in metallurgy, machinery, scientific research and other fields. Its stable operation directly affects the accuracy of detection results. However, due to long-term high load operation or improper operation, the instrument is prone to various malfunctions. Starting from five typical types of faults, combined with technical principles and practical experience, systematically analyze the causes of faults and propose targeted solutions:
1、 Power supply and high-frequency furnace malfunction
-The power supply cannot start
-Fuse blown: If the fan does not turn or the electronic tube filament does not light up after pressing the power switch, first check if the 20A fuse is blown. Before replacement, it is necessary to investigate the cause of the short circuit (such as high voltage ignition or aging of the circuit) to avoid repeated burning.
-The temperature control system is malfunctioning: there is no indication of the upper and lower temperatures and the switch light is not on, mostly due to damaged fuses. It needs to be replaced immediately to restore power supply.
-The high-frequency furnace is not working
-Control board signal interruption: Use the software's "diagnostic" function to press the number key "8" and observe the high-frequency corresponding LED indicator light. If it doesn't light up, check the fiber optic connection or replace it; If it lights up but there is no DC12V output, the control board is damaged and needs to be replaced.
-Abnormal electronic tube and circuit: visually inspect whether the filament of the electronic tube is lit (powered by AC6.3V), and use a multimeter to check the resistance value of the wire winding (normally 5K Ω). If the resistance is infinite or the electronic tube is damaged, the corresponding components need to be replaced.
-Difficulty igniting high-frequency furnace: If abnormal smoke and pressure are emitted during combustion, it may be due to the rupture of the quartz tube causing air leakage. The quartz tube needs to be replaced and the needle valve adjusted to stabilize the analyzed airflow at 3-4L/min. At the same time, the setting device needs to be adjusted to achieve a furnace head pressure of 0.08MPa and a combustion pressure of 0.15MPa.
2、 Communication and control system malfunction
-The analysis program cannot start
-Communication interruption: When the instructions from the upper computer are not received, priority should be given to checking whether the optical fiber is loose or damaged, and attempting to re plug or replace it. If the fiber optic cable is intact, it is a fault in the communication module of the motherboard and the motherboard needs to be replaced.
-Signal interference: When there are strong electromagnetic interference sources around, it is necessary to shield the circuit and optimize the grounding design to ensure data transmission stability.
-High frequency circuit high voltage ignition
-Quartz tube contamination: Internal slag accumulation causes ignition, and the quartz tube needs to be cleaned or replaced regularly.
-Heating coil oxidation: High temperature causes copper sheet oxidation and breakdown. Stop the machine to clean the heating coil and apply insulation protective agent.
-Poor insulation: Install sleeves in high-voltage areas to enhance insulation, and tighten all wiring terminals to prevent loosening.
3、 Fault in the pneumatic system
-Airtightness failure
-Sealing ring leakage: Apply vacuum silicone grease evenly at the joint to enhance the sealing effect.
-Ash discharge pipe rupture: When the oxygen pressure drops sharply, replacing the damaged ash discharge pipe can restore it.
-Abnormal airflow regulation
-Pipeline blockage: Failure of desiccant or accumulation of ash at the furnace head can hinder airflow, requiring replacement of desiccant and cleaning of the furnace head.
-Valve misalignment: Calibrate and analyze the air flow rate (3-4L/min) and pressure parameters by fine-tuning the needle valve and setting device.
4、 Abnormal data collection and display
-Abnormal carbon sulfur signal
-A/D sampling plate fault: If the data jump exceeds 2V, the 7135 chip or peripheral circuit is damaged, and the sampling plate needs to be replaced.
-Light source/modulation motor failure: When the signal is below 0.05V, check whether the light source voltage in F2 function is normal and manually test the motor vibration to confirm the status.
-No data output on the screen
-Loose serial connection: After turning off the power and unplugging the serial connection, if multiple restarts still fail, check the status of the motherboard's 5V power supply and chips such as 89C51 and GAL.
-Circuit board abnormality: Check the ± 5V power supply and chip soldering situation, and replace the damaged circuit board if necessary.
5、 Daily maintenance suggestions
-Preventive maintenance
-Clean the residue on the inner wall of the quartz tube every week, check the degree of oxidation of the high-frequency furnace coil every month, and sand it with sandpaper.
-Replace desiccants quarterly and calibrate pressure sensors and flow meters annually.
-Operating standards
-To avoid excessive sample volume causing overflow and contamination of the furnace head, ensure that the sample is dry and free of impurities before combustion.
-Reset the equipment immediately when high-voltage ignition occurs, and it is strictly prohibited to operate with faults to prevent further damage.
The troubleshooting of high-frequency infrared carbon sulfur analyzer requires a comprehensive judgment based on circuit principles, mechanical structure, and process parameters. Establishing a regular inspection system to record the service life cycle of key components such as fuses and electronic tubes can significantly reduce the rate of sudden failures. For complex issues such as motherboard chip level damage, it is recommended to contact the manufacturer's technical support to avoid misjudgment.
