Climate system
The climate system sends humid air into the sample chamber. The common method is to let compressed air bubble through a water bath with a temperature greater than the dew point of humid air. When calculating this temperature, any additional dry air added to the test gas should be taken into account. The relative humidity of the air in the sample room should be checked regularly, and the water temperature in the water bath should also be adjusted accordingly.
Compressed air should be free of oil and pollutants. One or more oil traps, oil filters, and chemical filtration devices should be used, such as a combination of dry activated carbon and molecular sieves, and should be replaced or activated regularly. Synthetic air can also be used. The water used should be distilled water or deionized water.
Wet air can be introduced into the sample chamber using the method shown in Figure B1. In this case, the air inside the sample chamber is expelled through suction, creating a low pressure inside the sample chamber (compared to the space outside the sample chamber inside the test chamber). The moist air outside the sample chamber is drawn into the chamber through a hole, and the size of the hole affects the pressure difference. Adjust the flow rate of air extracted from the sample chamber to achieve the specified hourly gas volume change rate. Compared to the atmospheric pressure of the environment, the low pressure formed in the sample chamber may cause difficulties in using certain gas analysis instruments.
The use of different experimental methods
Although copper is considered a good monitoring material, in general, the corrosion weight gain during testing is not related to the corrosion of other metal samples.
Test method 1 can be used for pitting corrosion testing of gold coatings. For the surface of the exposed gold coating, a test time of 10 days is appropriate.
