The electronic peel testing machine is a key mechanical testing equipment used to accurately determine the adhesive strength and peel performance of materials such as adhesives, composite films, labels, medical dressings, etc. under 180 °, 90 °, or T-shaped peel conditions. It controls the peeling speed through a high-precision servo system, collects real-time force and displacement data, and is widely used in the fields of packaging, medical, electronics, and new material research and development. Improper operation can easily lead to data distortion, fixture damage, and even sample slippage. Mastering the scientific and standardized use of electronic peel testing machines is a prerequisite for obtaining real and reproducible peel curves.

1、 Preparation before the experiment
Check the standard basis: clarify the testing standards (such as GB/T2790, ASTMD903, ISO8510), determine the peeling angle (usually 180 °), speed (usually 300mm/min), and sample size;
Check fixture status: Confirm that the upper and lower fixtures are not worn or loose, the clamping surface is flat and clean, and if necessary, install anti slip pads;
Zero point and range setting: Zero the force sensor in an unloaded state and select an appropriate range (recommended peak value between 20% and 80% of full range).
2、 Sample clamping specifications
Mid installation: Ensure that the peeling direction of the sample is consistent with the loading axis to avoid errors introduced by lateral forces;
Secure clamping: The clamping force is moderate to prevent slippage during testing, but flexible materials such as films and foam cannot be crushed;
Pre stripping treatment: Reserve 25-50mm of non bonded end according to the standard for easy insertion into the fixture.
3、 Parameter setting and operation control
Set the peeling speed, upper limit of travel, and sampling frequency in the control software (recommended ≥ 100Hz);
Enable the "automatic stop" function, which automatically stops when the force value drops sharply (indicating peeling) or reaches the preset displacement;
It is recommended to conduct a low-speed trial run to observe whether the sample behavior is abnormal.
4、 Data collection and result interpretation
The peeling curve should show a stable platform area, and the average force value of the platform section should be taken to calculate the peeling strength (N/mm);
If the curve fluctuates violently, check the uniformity of the sample, environmental temperature and humidity (recommended 23 ± 2 ℃, 50% RH), or fixture neutrality;
Each group should test at least 5 parallel samples, remove outliers, and take the average to ensure statistical reliability.
5、 Post use maintenance
Before shutting down, return to the initial position and remove the fixture to clean any remaining adhesive stains;
Regularly calibrate the force sensor with standard weights (recommended once a year);
Apply special lubricating grease to the guide rail and screw to prevent dust from entering and affecting accuracy.
