Guidelines for selecting UV aging test chambers
Date: 2025-12-22Read: 0
The selection of UV aging test chambers should focus on testing requirements, core performance, and practical adaptability, avoiding blind pursuit of parameter stacking. The following are the key selection points.
Firstly, clarifying the testing standards and requirements is the core prerequisite for selection. Different industries have specific standards, such as ISO 4892 and ASTM G154 commonly used in the coatings and plastics industries. For photovoltaic module testing, reference is made to IEC 61215, and it is necessary to confirm whether the equipment supports the corresponding standard parameters such as irradiation intensity and condensation cycle. At the same time, it is necessary to clarify the size, quantity, and testing cycle of the test samples to determine the working room capacity of the equipment, in order to avoid the impact of insufficient space on sample placement or energy waste caused by excessive space.
Secondly, focus on core performance indicators. Radiation uniformity is the key to determining the accuracy of test results. The radiation uniformity of high-quality equipment should be controlled within ± 10% and equipped with radiation intensity calibration function to ensure parameter stability during long-term use. The selection of the lamp tube should match the testing requirements. The UVA-340 lamp tube simulates the short wave component of ultraviolet light in sunlight and is suitable for outdoor product testing; The UVB-313 lamp has a higher irradiation intensity and is suitable for accelerated aging testing. It is necessary to confirm whether the equipment supports convenient replacement and lifespan monitoring of the lamp. The condensation system is equally important, ensuring that the humidity in the studio remains stable within the set range, and that the condensed water is pure and pollution-free to prevent non experimental corrosion of the sample.
Then consider the practical configuration and reliability of the equipment. The control system should be easy to operate, support program settings, data recording, and fault alarms. Priority should be given to models with touch screens and data export functions for easy organization and traceability of test data. In terms of equipment material, the studio should use 304 stainless steel or corrosion-resistant alloy, and the shell should have good thermal insulation to extend the service life of the equipment. In addition, attention should be paid to safety protection configurations, such as over temperature protection, leakage protection, door safety locks, etc., to avoid safety hazards during the testing process.
Finally, balance after-sales service and cost. There is no need to pursue high priced imported equipment. If the products of domestic legitimate manufacturers can meet testing standards, the cost-effectiveness is higher. It is necessary to confirm whether the manufacturer provides free installation, debugging, operation training, and warranty services, and to understand the supply price and cycle of vulnerable parts (such as lamps and seals) to reduce subsequent maintenance costs.
In summary, the selection of UV aging test chambers should be guided by testing needs, focusing on core performance, practical configuration, and after-sales support, in order to find equipment with strong adaptability and high cost-effectiveness.
