There are many reasons for nozzle blockage in the salt spray test chamber, which may be caused by the following factors:

  1. The nozzle often operates efficiently;
  2. The liquid filtration system is damaged, causing the fluid to produce a "sandblasting" destructive effect;
  3. After a long downtime of the equipment, the nozzle cleaning and inspection work was not carried out, resulting in the formation of chemicals and crystals, causing coupling effects and blocking the spray holes and ducts;
  4. The nozzle is chipped or shattered by the workpiece.

Inspection Method

  1. Check the pressure index. The pressure index is normal, but the problem lies in the pipeline and nozzle area;
  2. There is saltwater circulation in the pipeline, and the problem lies in the nozzle;
  3. Remove the nozzle (straight glass tube and curved glass tube) and the silicone tube fitted on the glass tube, check for impurities blocking, and if so, use a gas tube to blow out the impurities from the head of the nozzle. Do not blow from the position of the silicone tube;
  4. If there is no impurity, turn on the spray switch of the salt spray test chamber, and air comes out of the bent glass tube of the nozzle. Re adjust the position of the nozzle.

Preventive measures

  1. The salt spray test chamber must use distilled water or deionized water to filter impurities in the water and reduce the probability of nozzle blockage.
  2. Installing an oil-water separator can prevent water, oil, and other substances from being carried in by compressed air, which can cause oil stains to adhere to the nozzle wall. The aperture of the nozzle is relatively small, and both impurities in the water and attached oil stains can affect the formation of salt spray.
  3. To avoid impact, be careful when installing nozzles or unclogging after nozzle blockage, as excessive force can damage the nozzle.
  4. Do not set the inlet pressure of the salt spray test chamber too high. Generally, the pressure should be between 0.3mpa and 0.6mpa. Excessive pressure can easily cause the nozzle to rupture.
