Cyclone style grinding is a laboratory equipment that uses a high-speed rotating grinding device to crush materials into uniform fine powder, widely used in fields such as food, chemical, pharmaceutical, and mineral industries. The maintenance work directly affects the performance stability, service life, and accuracy of sample testing of the equipment. Scientific maintenance requires a combination of daily cleaning, maintenance of key components, lubrication management, environmental control, and other measures. The following provides a comprehensive explanation from operational details to precautions.
1、 Daily cleaning and basic maintenance
1. Clean the grinding chamber and residual samples
-Operation steps: Immediately turn off the power and disconnect the device after each use. Open the grinding chamber and use a soft bristled brush or vacuum cleaner to remove residual sample powder to avoid cross contamination. For viscous or oily samples, the inner walls of the chamber can be wiped with anhydrous ethanol or specialized cleaning agents, and then wiped dry with a clean silk cloth.
-Caution: Do not use hard objects to scratch the surface of the grinding chamber to prevent scratches from causing residual sample adsorption; After cleaning, it is necessary to ensure that the chamber is dry to avoid rusting caused by moisture.
2. Cleaning of filtration device
-The filter screen of the cyclone separator is the core component for intercepting large particle impurities and needs to be disassembled and cleaned regularly. Rinse the filter with clean water, and any stubborn residue can be lightly brushed with a nylon brush. After drying, reinstall. If the pores of the filter are blocked, it will lead to a decrease in separation efficiency and even cause motor overload.
3. Dust removal of peripheral components
-The equipment casing, control panel, and heat dissipation holes are prone to dust accumulation and need to be wiped with a dry cotton cloth every week. Blockage of heat dissipation holes can affect motor heat dissipation and may cause overheating protection or component damage in the long run.
2、 Inspection and replacement of key components
1. Blade and Hammer Maintenance
-Inspection frequency: Check the integrity of the blade/hammer head before daily use to observe for any chipping, wear, or looseness.
-Replacement standard: When the blade has obvious gaps or passivation, it should be replaced in a timely manner, otherwise it will reduce the crushing efficiency and cause overheating; When the wear of the hammer head exceeds one-third of its original size, it should be scrapped to avoid increased vibration caused by imbalance.
-Installation requirements: After replacing the blades, the dynamic balance should be calibrated to ensure that the weight difference of blades in the same group does not exceed 0.1 grams, and to prevent equipment shaking.
2. Bearing lubrication and inspection
-Lubrication cycle: High speed bearings need to be lubricated with grease (such as high-temperature resistant silicone grease) every 500 hours of operation. If the equipment is in a high dust environment, the cycle can be shortened to 200 hours.
-Operation method: Remove the bearing cover, remove the old grease, and inject new lubricating grease with a syringe to fill 2/3 of the bearing chamber, avoiding excessive overflow and contaminating the sample.
-Abnormal judgment: If the bearing makes abnormal noise or feels stuck during operation, it may cause wear due to lack of oil and require immediate shutdown for maintenance.
3. Aging monitoring of seals
-The rubber sealing rings at the inlet and outlet pipes may age and deform due to long-term exposure to chemical reagents or high temperatures, and their elasticity needs to be checked monthly. If hardening, cracking, or loss of sealing is found, replace it with an oil and acid resistant silicone ring.
3、 Maintenance of Electrical Systems and Safety Devices
1. Motor and circuit inspection
-Voltage stability: Regularly use a multimeter to check the power supply voltage, and the fluctuation range should be controlled within ± 10% of the rated voltage to avoid motor overload or undervoltage operation.
-Carbon brush replacement: For carbon brush motors, check the length of the carbon brush every six months. When it wears down to one-third of its original length, it needs to be replaced, otherwise it may cause sparking or poor contact.
2. Overheating protection device testing
-Simulate motor overload state (such as blocking the ventilation port of the grinding chamber) and check if the automatic power-off function is normal. If the protective switch fails, the motor may burn out due to prolonged high temperature.
3. Grounding and insulation testing
-Every year, professional electricians are required to test the grounding resistance of equipment (which should be ≤ 4 Ω) and measure the insulation performance of power lines with an insulation resistance meter to prevent the risk of leakage.
4、 Long term disuse and seasonal maintenance
1. Handling before long-term discontinuation
-After cleaning the equipment, apply rust proof oil to the grinding chamber, bearings, and other parts, turn off the power and unplug the plug, and cover the entire machine with a dust cover.
-Power on and idle for 10 minutes every month to prevent bearing adhesion or electronic components from getting damp and aging.
2. Humidity and temperature control
-The storage environment of the equipment should be kept dry (relative humidity ≤ 60%), and dehumidifiers should be installed in high temperature and high humidity areas; In low temperature environments during winter, it is necessary to preheat for 30 minutes before use to avoid the solidification of lubricating oil.
5、 Record and archive management
Establish an Equipment Maintenance Log to record information such as maintenance time, content, and replacement of parts for each maintenance. It is recommended to adopt an electronic management system and set up maintenance cycle reminders to avoid omissions. Simultaneously keep procurement batch records of spare parts such as blades and bearings for easy traceability of quality issues.
6、 Safety operation standards
1. Prohibited items: It is strictly prohibited to open the grinding chamber during operation; Before cleaning or repairing, the power must be cut off and a warning sign must be hung.
2. Personal protection: When handling sharp blades or high-speed rotating parts, cut resistant gloves and goggles should be worn.
3. Chemical protection: After contact with corrosive samples, promptly clean the chamber with citric acid solution and ventilate and exhaust.
