On June 13th, the Institute of Crop Science, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (ICS, CAAS) and Foss FOSS officially signed a cooperation agreement to jointly establish the "ICS, CAAS-FOSS Joint Laboratory".
The laboratory will integrate FOSS near-infrared (NIR) technology with crop breeding innovation, develop an intelligent wheat quality analysis platform, and provide key technical support for wheat genetic improvement and sustainable agricultural development.

As a wheat producing country (accounting for 17% of global production), improving wheat quality is crucial for ensuring food security and promoting sustainable agriculture in China.
The joint laboratory will rely on the germplasm resource bank of the Institute of Crop Science, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences——National Crop Germplasm Resources BankBy preserving over 500000 resources, ranking second in the world, and combining advanced analytical technology from Volkswagen in the fields of agriculture and food testing, we will jointly promote the upgrading of wheat breeding technology.
