The bromine value bromine index analyzer is an analytical instrument used to determine the bromine value and bromine index in petrochemical products. It is mainly used to determine the degree of unsaturation in petrochemical products (such as gasoline, kerosene, diesel, lubricating oil, etc.) and organic compounds. By quantifying the reactivity of bromine with unsaturated bonds (such as olefins and double bonds) in the sample, the performance or chemical reactivity of the oil can be evaluated.
The bromine value bromine index analyzer adopts the principle of microcoulometric titration. During the measurement process, the instrument generates bromine through electrolysis, which undergoes addition reactions with unsaturated compounds (such as olefins, double bonds, etc.) in the sample. According to Faraday's law of electrolysis, the bromine valence and bromine index in the sample can be calculated by measuring the amount of electricity consumed during the electrolysis process.
Measurement method: After processing, the sample is injected into the titration cell and reacts with bromine in the electrolyte. The bromine value and bromine index are determined by calculating the consumed electricity.
Instrument Features
Intelligent control: using a microcomputer system to achieve parameter setting, electrolysis control, and data processing, with easy operation and accurate results.
Safety and Environmental Protection: Use benzene free electrolyte instead of traditional toxic solvents to reduce environmental pollution and harm to operators. At the same time, the use of sand core technology avoids the risk of ion membrane damage and improves the safety of the instrument.
Convenient operation: Built in computer integrated operating system, some models can be directly used in the fume hood for easy experimental operation.
Multifunctionality: In addition to petrochemical products, it can also determine the bromination reactivity of natural/synthetic rubber to meet the needs of different fields.
Main application areas
Petrochemical industry: used to determine the content of unsaturated hydrocarbons in gasoline, diesel, lubricating oil and other oil products, evaluate the stability, oxidation and polymerization tendency of oil products; Detect the production stability of polymers such as polyethylene and polypropylene.
Rubber industry: Evaluate the chemical reactivity of natural rubber and synthetic rubber, monitor changes in unsaturation during the production process, and ensure product performance.
Environmental monitoring: detecting unsaturated organic compounds (such as volatile organic compounds and pesticide residues) in water bodies and the atmosphere, and studying pollution mechanisms.
Fine Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals: Control the purity of chemical raw materials (such as alcohols and ethers), monitor the reaction process of pharmaceutical intermediates, and ensure product compliance.
Food and Oils: Evaluate the oxidative stability of oils, detect unsaturated components in food additives, and ensure safety.
