Single channel BOD-Q water quality analyzerIt is a device based on the principle of microbial Coulomb method, specifically designed for rapid and accurate determination of biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) in water samples. Its core principle is:
1. Microbial degradation: Organic matter in water samples undergoes oxidation reactions under the action of anodic microorganisms, releasing electrons.
2. Electronic transfer: Electrons are transferred from the anode to the cathode through an external circuit, forming an electric current.
3. Electricity measurement: By measuring the integral of current over time (Coulomb quantity) and combining it with stoichiometric relationships, the oxygen mass concentration required for organic matter metabolism, i.e. BOD value, is calculated.
This principle breaks through the limitation of traditional BOD detection relying on dissolved oxygen consumption, shortening the detection time from 5 days to 0.5-5 hours. The sample detection time is greatly reduced, saving the time of users and supporting rapid detection of 1 to 128 samples, meeting the needs of large-scale water quality monitoring. This device adopts the microbial Coulomb method to directly monitor the electron flow signal during the degradation process of organic matter, avoiding the accumulation of errors in traditional dissolved oxygen measurement methods. The sensitivity to interference factors such as suspended solids and chromaticity in water bodies is significantly lower than traditional methods, making it suitable for direct detection of high turbidity or colored water bodies.
Single channel BOD-Q water quality analyzerMaintenance and upkeep:
Cleaning and maintenance: After the measurement is completed, take out the sample cup, rinse it with clean water, and keep the surface of the instrument and the detection chamber dry and dust-free.
Replacement of vulnerable parts: Replace vulnerable parts such as sensors, seals, etc. according to regulations to avoid equipment failure.
Accuracy verification: Regularly use standard solutions for accuracy verification to ensure the reliability of measurement results.
