As the core equipment for testing the mechanical properties of materials, electronic universal testing machines are widely used in fields such as university research, industrial manufacturing, and quality inspection institutions. The accuracy of their testing data and the stability of equipment operation are directly related to the reliability of experimental results and the control of production quality. Whether it is equipment such as CMT6503G microcomputer controlled high-temperature electronic universal testing machine delivered by Chenxin Testing Technology, or conventional model testing machines, scientific maintenance is the key to extending equipment service life, ensuring testing accuracy, and reducing failure risks. This article will provide a comprehensive equipment maintenance plan from four dimensions: daily maintenance, regular maintenance, common fault handling, and maintenance precautions.
1、 Daily maintenance: Building a solid foundation for stable operation of equipment
Daily maintenance is the first line of defense for equipment maintenance, which needs to run through the entire process of equipment use. It is easy to operate but can effectively reduce potential faults.
-Pre use inspection: Before starting up, it is necessary to confirm that the power supply voltage of the equipment is stable and meets the rated voltage requirements of the equipment (usually 220V/380V, please refer to the equipment manual for details); Check that the power and data cables are securely connected without any damage or aging; Observe the appearance of the equipment for any bumps or deformations, and ensure that there is no accumulation of debris in the fixtures and testing areas; For high-temperature testing machines, it is necessary to specially check the sealing of the high-temperature furnace and the connection of the temperature measuring components to ensure that there is no looseness.
-During operation monitoring: When the equipment is running, closely monitor whether the sound of the host running is stable and there is no abnormal noise (such as metal friction sound, motor abnormal noise, etc.); Real time check whether the force value, displacement, temperature and other parameters displayed on the software interface are stable, without any jumping or lagging phenomenon; During the high-temperature testing process, strictly monitor the temperature rise rate and insulation accuracy of the high-temperature furnace to avoid damage to the equipment caused by overheating operation.
-Cleaning and organization after use: After the test is completed, turn off the equipment load first, wait for the high-temperature furnace to cool naturally to room temperature (high-temperature models), and then turn off the main power after all components of the equipment have returned to their initial state. Timely clean the sample residue, oil stains, and test debris on the fixture, and use a clean soft cloth dipped in an appropriate amount of anhydrous ethanol to wipe the surface of the fixture to avoid residual corrosive substances; Organize power and data cables to avoid entanglement and compression; Clean the equipment body and operating table, and keep the laboratory environment clean and dry.
2、 Regular maintenance: precise control of equipment core performance
Regular maintenance should be carried out according to a fixed cycle, with in-depth inspection and maintenance of key components of the equipment. It is recommended to develop a maintenance plan based on the frequency of equipment use (such as weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual).
1. Weekly maintenance: Focus on consumable parts
Focus on inspecting the clamping performance of the fixture, checking whether the clamping block is worn or deformed. If there is slippage during sample clamping, it is necessary to replace the clamping block or adjust the clamping force in a timely manner; Clean the equipment's motion guide rail, wipe off the dust on the guide rail with a soft cloth, and apply special lubricating oil (such as No. 32 hydraulic oil) to ensure smooth movement of the guide rail; Check if the limit switch is sensitive. When the limit device is pressed, the equipment should immediately stop running to avoid damage caused by overtravel.
2. Monthly maintenance: Strengthen core component testing
Perform performance calibration on the sensor and verify the accuracy of the force sensor through standard weights or calibration components. If the error exceeds the allowable range (usually ≤± 0.5%), professional technicians should be contacted for debugging; Check the operation status of the motor and reducer, touch the motor casing to feel the temperature. During normal operation, the temperature should not exceed 60 ℃. If overheating occurs, check whether the cooling fan is working properly; Clean the dust inside the device, open the side cover of the main unit, and use compressed air to blow away the dust on the circuit board, motor, and heat dissipation holes to avoid dust accumulation and circuit short circuits.
3. Quarterly maintenance: Deepen equipment system maintenance
Check the hydraulic system (hydraulic testing machine), check whether the oil level in the tank is within the specified range, whether the oil is turbid or deteriorated. If the oil needs to be replaced, use the hydraulic oil specified in the equipment manual and clean the tank and filter; Conduct a comprehensive inspection of the electrical control system, tighten the wiring terminals, and check for any signs of erosion on the contacts of contactors and relays. If necessary, polish or replace them; Calibrate the displacement and deformation measurement system of the equipment to ensure the accuracy of the test data.
4. Annual maintenance: professional level comprehensive inspection
It is recommended to invite professional technical personnel from equipment manufacturers (such as Chenxin Testing Technology) for comprehensive maintenance, including systematic calibration of equipment accuracy, performance evaluation of core components (such as sensors, motors, and screws), software system upgrades and maintenance, etc; Replace severely aged components such as sealing rings, power cords, and bearings uniformly to ensure that the equipment is put into use in its best condition.
3、 Common troubleshooting: Quickly troubleshoot and restore operation
If there is a malfunction during the operation of the equipment, it should be stopped and powered off first to avoid the fault from expanding, and then combined with the following common problems for troubleshooting and handling:
-No response when starting up: First check if the power socket is powered on and if the power cord is in good contact; If the power supply is normal, check if the device fuse is blown, replace it with a fuse of the same specification, and try again; If the problem remains unresolved, it may be a malfunction in the power module or control system, and professional maintenance personnel should be contacted.
-Large deviation in test data: Firstly, confirm whether the sample installation is standardized and whether the fixture clamping is firm; Check if the sensor has been calibrated. If it exceeds the calibration cycle, it needs to be recalibrated; Check if the parameter settings of the testing software are correct, such as sample type, specifications, testing speed, etc. If necessary, restore the software's default settings.
-Equipment running stutter: Check if there are any foreign objects blocking the guide rail, clean the guide rail and reapply lubricating oil; Check the fit clearance between the screw and nut. If the clearance is too large, it needs to be adjusted or replaced; For hydraulic testing machines, it may be due to abnormal viscosity of the hydraulic oil or blockage of the oil circuit, requiring replacement of the oil and cleaning of the oil circuit.
-Abnormal heating of high-temperature furnace (high-temperature model): Check whether the temperature measuring thermocouple is loose or damaged, and re fix or replace the thermocouple; Check if the heating tube is open circuit, use a multimeter to measure the resistance value of the heating tube. If it is infinite, replace the heating tube; Check the temperature control system parameter settings to ensure that the heating curve meets the equipment requirements.
4、 Maintenance precautions: Avoid maintenance misconceptions
-Strictly follow the equipment manual for maintenance operations, and do not disassemble core components (such as sensors and circuit boards) without authorization to avoid equipment damage;
-Select maintenance consumables that match the equipment (such as lubricating oil, hydraulic oil, fuses), and eliminate the use of inferior consumables that affect equipment performance;
-Establish an equipment maintenance ledger, detailing the time, content, operators, and equipment operation status of each maintenance, providing a basis for subsequent maintenance;
-Regularly train equipment operators to ensure they are familiar with equipment operation specifications and basic maintenance knowledge, and to avoid equipment failures caused by improper operation.
The maintenance of electronic universal testing machines is a systematic task that requires a balance between daily details and regular in-depth maintenance. Scientific maintenance not only extends the service life of equipment, but also ensures the accuracy and reliability of test data, providing solid support for scientific research experiments and production quality inspection. If you encounter complex problems during maintenance or use, you can always contact the professional after-sales team of the equipment manufacturer. For example, Chenxin Testing Technology can provide technical support and maintenance services to customers, helping the equipment to operate continuously and stably.
