Usage of residual oxygen detector for drugs
Date: 2025-09-04Read: 2
Drug residual oxygen detectorThe use of should follow the five core steps of pre operation preparation, instrument calibration, sample testing, data recording and processing, and equipment maintenance. The specific operation methods are as follows:
1、 Preparation before operation
Instrument inspection
Confirm that the device is fully charged or connected to a power source to avoid detection interruptions.
Check if the sensor is clean, and if necessary, wipe it with a soft cloth or specialized cleaning agent. Do not use corrosive solvents.
Confirm that the equipment has been calibrated (if not calibrated, follow the instructions).
Check the sealing of the packaging of the drug to be tested to ensure no leakage, and place it on a stable surface.
Environmental Requirements
The operating area needs to be clean and dry to avoid dust and high humidity affecting the test results.
Ensure good ventilation to prevent gas interference (such as volatilization of other chemicals).
2、 Instrument calibration
Low oxygen calibration (0% oxygen concentration)
Use high-purity nitrogen gas (purity ≥ 99.9%) as the standard gas.
Connect the sampling needle to the nitrogen source, press the calibration button, wait for the instrument to display "0%" and emit a prompt sound (such as a "beep" sound), indicating that the calibration is complete.
High oxygen calibration (20.9% oxygen concentration)
Expose the sampling needle to the air in a ventilated environment (with an oxygen concentration of approximately 20.9%).
Press the calibration button, wait for the instrument to display "20.9%" and confirm successful calibration.
Record calibration information
Save calibration time, parameters, and results for easy quality traceability in the future.
3、 Sample testing
Selection of Sampling Method
Conventional packaging (such as penicillin bottles, infusion bags): Use a dedicated sampling needle or sampler to puncture the top space of the packaging to avoid puncturing the bottom of the packaging.
Special packaging (such as ampoules):
Crushing method: Place the ampoule bottle in an underwater gas collection device, use tools such as pliers to crush the bottle body, release headspace gas, and avoid gas escape.
Non destructive sampling: Use a non-destructive sampling needle to penetrate the bottle stopper and extract headspace gas.
Testing Process
Start the instrument, select the "residual oxygen detection" mode, and set the detection parameters (such as detection time and gas collection volume).
Insert the sampling needle into the top space of the sample, ensuring that the insertion depth is appropriate and avoiding contact with the drug.
Press the 'Start' button, and the instrument will automatically extract gas samples and detect them, usually taking several seconds to tens of seconds (depending on the model).
After the detection is completed, the instrument displays the oxygen concentration value (expressed as a percentage).
4、 Data recording and processing
result saved
Press the "Save" button to store the detection data, or export it to the computer through the data interface.
Record information such as testing time, sample batch, oxygen concentration value, etc. for easy traceability and analysis.
exception handling
If the data is abnormal (such as high oxygen concentration), it is necessary to retest or check the sealing of the sample and whether the sampling operation is standardized.
For multiple abnormal data, it is necessary to analyze the reasons (such as packaging material defects, sterilization process issues).
5、 Equipment maintenance
Daily cleaning
Drug residual oxygen detectorAfter each use, clean the sampling needle, sensor, and equipment surface to avoid dust or residue affecting the next test.
Regularly inspect the pneumatic system to ensure there are no blockages or leaks.
Regular calibration and maintenance
According to the frequency of use, a comprehensive calibration should be conducted every 1-3 months.
Replace consumables (such as sensors, batteries, seals) to ensure stable equipment performance.
Storage requirements
Turn off the device power and store it in a dry, ventilated, and non strong electromagnetic interference environment, avoiding direct sunlight.
Precautions
Safe operation: Avoid use in flammable, explosive, or toxic gas environments; Prevent injury when operating sharp tools such as pliers.
Sampling standard: The sampling position should be uniform, avoiding sampling at the edges or corners of the packaging; Wear protective goggles and gloves when ampoules are broken.
Data interpretation: Familiarize yourself with the principles and limitations of detection methods to ensure that the data complies with scientific standards (such as oxygen concentration ≤ 2% usually indicating good packaging sealing).
