Common causes and maintenance methods of abnormal noise in fluorine lined pneumatic diaphragm pumps
Date: 2025-12-01Read: 18
Fluorine lined pneumatic diaphragm pump is a device that combines the corrosion resistance of fluoroplastics with the flexibility of pneumatic diaphragm pumps, suitable for conveying corrosive, high viscosity, or solid particle containing media.
Common causes and maintenance methods of abnormal noise
Damaged or improperly installed diaphragm
Reason: Vibration caused by aging, damage, or incorrect installation of the diaphragm.
Repair: Replace the diaphragm with a new one to ensure that the sealing surface is clean and securely fastened during installation. ‌
Wear or jamming of internal components
Reason: Wear of valve ball and seat, or stuck valve core.
Repair: Disassemble and clean components, replace worn valve balls, valve seats, or valve cores. ‌
Abnormal gas source pressure
Reason: Pump body vibration caused by high or low pressure.
Repair: Adjust the air source pressure to 0.4-0.7MPa and check if the pressure regulating valve is working properly. ‌
Loose connection of pump body or uneven base
Reason: The base is not firmly fixed or the contact surface between the pump body and the base is uneven.
Repair: Re tighten the connectors and adjust the base level. ‌
Influence of medium or impurities
Reason: The conveying medium contains solid particles or has high viscosity, resulting in component jamming.
Repair: Install a filter or replace the pump type suitable for high viscosity media.
Commissioning and verification after maintenance
After assembly, first pass compressed air (without medium) and run for 5 minutes to observe if there is still any abnormal noise and if there is any air leakage in the air circuit;
Connect the medium, start the pump, check if the flow rate is stable, if the pump body vibration is normal, and if the inlet and outlet pressures are within the rated range;
Run continuously for 30 minutes, monitor the temperature of the pump body (normal should be ≤ 70 ℃), confirm that there is no leakage or abnormal noise, and complete the maintenance.
Daily maintenance points (reducing abnormal noise faults)
Regularly check the air source pressure and keep the intake clean (clean the intake filter element once a month);
Check the fixing bolts and pipeline joints of the pump body every week for looseness and tighten them in a timely manner;
Replace the diaphragm every 3-6 months (adjust the cycle according to the corrosiveness of the medium) and check the wear of the valve ball/seat;
Avoid pump idling (which can cause dry wear and damage to the diaphragm), and replenish the medium in a timely manner when the liquid level is too low;
After using corrosive media, rinse the pump chamber with clean water to prevent residual media from corroding parts.
