Briefly describe the basic operating steps of a vertical low-speed large capacity centrifuge
Date: 2023-09-01Read: 2
Vertical low-speed large capacity centrifugeIt is an efficient and practical laboratory equipment designed specifically for handling large volume samples. It combines the mildness of low-speed centrifugation with large capacity loading capacity, suitable for various specifications of centrifuge tubes and bottles, meeting different experimental needs. The vertical design allows the sample tube to be placed vertically during the centrifugation process, saving space and running smoothly. This centrifuge generates centrifugal force by driving a vertical rotor to rotate, achieving solid-liquid separation. It is particularly suitable for gentle centrifugation of sensitive cells, protein particles, and other fragile substances.

The following will introduce the basic operating steps of a vertical low-speed large capacity centrifuge:
1. Preparation work
Before use, first check if the equipment is in normal working condition. Confirm that there are no impurities or residues inside, and check whether the rotor and centrifuge tube are intact and undamaged. Meanwhile, ensure that it is connected to the power source.
2. Sample loading
Load the sample to be separated into centrifuge tubes. Note that different types of centrifuge tubes may be required for different samples, so the appropriate centrifuge tube should be selected according to experimental needs. When filling the sample, ensure that the height of the liquid in each centrifuge tube is equal to maintain balance.
3. Rotor selection
Select the appropriate rotor according to the experimental requirements. Different rotors are suitable for different types and capacities of centrifuge tubes. Ensure that the rotor matches the centrifuge tube to avoid instability or danger during the centrifugation process.
4. Speed and time settings
Set appropriate rotational speed and centrifugation time according to experimental requirements. Normally, higher rotational speeds can separate samples faster, but they may also cause damage to the samples. Therefore, caution should be exercised when selecting the rotational speed and reference should be made to relevant literature or expert advice.
5. Start the device
After confirming that all parameter settings are correct, close the lid of the centrifuge and start the equipment. During the startup process, it is important to ensure smooth operation without any abnormal noise or vibration. If any abnormal situation is found, the centrifuge should be stopped immediately and the cause checked.
6. End of centrifugation
When the set centrifugation time is reached, the equipment will automatically stop. Before opening, wait for the rotor to stop rotating and ensure that the internal pressure has been released. Then carefully open the lid and remove the centrifuge tube.
7. Cleaning and maintenance
After use, the equipment and rotor should be cleaned in a timely manner. Empty the centrifuge tube and wipe the internal and external surfaces with a suitable cleaning agent. Note that cleaning and maintenance should be carried out according to the manufacturer's instructions to ensure the long-term stable operation of the equipment.
Before using a vertical low-speed large capacity centrifuge machine, preparation work should be carried out and the equipment status should be checked. Sample loading, rotor selection, speed and time setting are key steps that need to be noted during the operation process. After starting, closely observe the operation of the equipment and carry out cleaning and maintenance work after centrifugation is completed. By operating correctly, experimental efficiency can be improved and reliable experimental results can be obtained.
