Analysis of Common Problems in Light Incubators
As the core equipment for cultivating microorganisms and plant seedlings in the laboratory, the stable operation of the light incubator directly affects the experimental results. However, three typical problems are prone to occur in daily use and require precise investigation.
1、 Temperature runaway: the most significant factor affecting experimental accuracyInvisible interference
Temperature fluctuations or inability to reach the set value are common faults. There are usually two core reasons: one is the heating tube/The refrigeration unit is aging, and the efficiency of the components decreases after long-term use. It is necessary to regularly check the appearance for damage or deformation; The second issue is temperature sensor malfunction, where the sensor is covered in dust or displaced, which can cause the device to misjudge the ambient temperature. Cleaning the sensor and recalibrating its position can solve the problem.
2、 Light system failure: affecting photosynthesis experimentsKey blind spots
The failure of the lamp to light up or insufficient light intensity can directly lead to deviations in plant growth experiment data. Prioritize checking the contact points of the lamp tube. Long term use may cause poor contact due to oxidation. Wiping the metal contacts after power failure can restore it; If the brightness of a single or multiple lamp tubes is insufficient, it is likely that the lamp tube's lifespan has expired and needs to be replaced with the original model. When replacing, be sure to wear gloves to avoid fingerprint contamination that may affect the lamp tube's lifespan.
3、 Abnormal humidity: easily overlookedCultivate hidden dangers
High humidity can easily lead to mold growth in the culture medium, while low humidity can cause dehydration of the culture. If the humidity continues to be low, first check whether the humidification sink is short of water or clogged with scale, regularly add water and clean the scale; If the humidity remains high, it is necessary to check whether the dehumidification fan is faulty. If the fan stops, the moisture inside the box cannot be discharged, and the fan components need to be repaired or replaced in a timely manner.
In daily use, regularly cleaning the interior of the equipment, calibrating the temperature sensor monthly, and checking the lighting tube and humidification system every six months can significantly reduce the occurrence of failures and ensure the accuracy and stability of experimental data.
