As the core separation equipment in the laboratory, the stability of the desktop high-speed centrifuge directly affects the accuracy of experimental data and sample safety. Scientific maintenance can significantly reduce failure rates and extend service life. The following provides a detailed explanation of maintenance points from four aspects: daily operation standards, periodic maintenance, key component management, and environmental adaptation.
1、 Daily operation: Standardize actions to build a defense line
1. Balance and balance strictly according to standards: Centrifugal tubes should be placed symmetrically with a weight difference of ≤ 0.1g. If there is insufficient, use the same specification of balancing fluid to make up for it. Unbalanced operation will cause severe vibration, accelerate bearing wear, and may lead to shaft deformation.
2. Gradual parameter setting: Before starting, confirm that the speed, time, and temperature parameters are correct, and observe the display screen status during the acceleration stage to avoid instantaneous high-speed impact. If there is an abnormal alarm (such as overspeed or unclosed door cover), immediately stop the machine for troubleshooting.
3. Slow deceleration at the end of operation: It is forbidden to directly cut off the power supply. The rotor should be allowed to naturally decelerate to a stop to prevent damage to the bearings due to inertial impact. Before opening the cover, confirm that the rotor is stationary and wear protective gloves to take and place the sample.
2、 Periodic maintenance: precise maintenance improves efficiency
1. Monthly basic maintenance:
-Cleaning and disinfection: Wipe the centrifuge chamber, rotor, and cover plate with 75% ethanol to remove protein residues; Stainless steel rotors can be immersed in enzyme cleaning agents for ultrasonic cleaning, while plastic rotors are prohibited from high-temperature disinfection.
-Lubrication and maintenance: Inject food grade silicone oil into the main shaft bearings (every six months), paying attention to the appropriate amount to fill 2/3 of the bearing gap. Excessive amount can easily adsorb dust and cause blockage.
2. Quarterly in-depth maintenance:
-Rotor inspection: visually inspect the surface of the rotor for cracks and corrosion, measure the groove depth with a caliper, and replace if it exceeds 0.5mm; Perform action balance testing when necessary.
-Sealing ring replacement: Check the elasticity of the rubber sealing ring every quarter. If it hardens or cracks, replace it immediately to prevent liquid leakage and corrosion of the motor during centrifugation.
3. Annual professional maintenance: Engineers dismantle and clean the cooling fins of the air cooling system, test the insulation resistance of the motor winding, and calibrate the accuracy of the speed sensor.
3、 Key component management: details determine lifespan
1. Classification and storage of rotors: separate angular rotors and horizontal rotors to avoid collision and deformation; Aluminum alloy rotors should avoid contact with acidic solutions, while titanium alloy rotors can be used for highly corrosive samples.
2. Principle of matching centrifuge tubes: Original matching centrifuge tubes must be used, and mixing different models is strictly prohibited; PC material pipes can withstand a maximum temperature of ≤ 60 ℃, while PFA pipes can be used in strong acid and alkali environments.
3. Drive system protection: For belt drive models, check the belt tension every month, press the middle of the belt with your fingers, and control the sinking amount within 5-10mm. When the carbon brush wears down to one-third of its original length, it needs to be replaced to prevent spark discharge.
4、 Environmental adaptation: invisible factors cannot be ignored
1. Temperature and humidity control: The working room temperature should be maintained at 15-25 ℃, and the relative humidity should be less than 70% to avoid condensation water from entering the circuit system. Dehumidifiers can be installed during humid seasons.
2. Seismic measures: Place a 5mm thick rubber shock absorber pad under the equipment, away from large vibration sources (such as air compressors); The load-bearing capacity of the countertop should be greater than 200kg/m ² to prevent resonance.
3. Power grid guarantee: Equipped with independent air switches (rated current ≥ 16A), the voltage fluctuation range should be within ± 5%, and a stabilized power supply should be installed if necessary.
