Oil kinematic viscosity testerIt is a specialized equipment used to determine the kinematic viscosity of liquid petroleum products (such as lubricating oil, diesel, jet fuel, etc.). Its core principle is based on the measurement of intermolecular friction force in the laminar flow state of the liquid. The kinematic viscosity is calculated by measuring the time the liquid flows through a capillary viscometer at a specific temperature.
Oil kinematic viscosity testerOperation steps:
Installation and leveling: Install the experimental apparatus of the motion viscometer, adjust the foot screws of the motion viscometer, so that the horizontal bead bubble in the middle of the instrument cover is in the middle circle, and ensure that the cover is in a horizontal position.
Sample processing: When the sample contains water or other impurities, it must be dehydrated before the experiment and filtered through filter paper to remove mechanical impurities.
Viscometer cleaning: Before measuring the viscosity of the sample, the viscometer must be cleaned with a solvent or petroleum ether. If the viscometer is dirty, wash it with chromic acid solution, water, distilled water, or 95% ethanol in sequence, and then dry it in an oven or blow dry it with hot air filtered through cotton.
Sample loading: Before loading the sample, place the rubber tube on the branch pipe and use your fingers to block the mouth of the tube body, while inverting the viscometer. Then insert the tube body of the viscometer into the container containing the sample, and use a rubber ball to suck the liquid onto the marking line, while being careful not to cause bubbles or cracks in the tube body, enlarged part, and liquid inside. When the liquid level reaches the marking line, lift the viscometer from the container and quickly restore its normal state. At the same time, wipe off the excess sample adhered to the outer wall of the pipe end, and remove the rubber tube from the branch pipe and put it on the pipe body.
Constant temperature treatment: Immerse the viscometer containing the sample into a pre prepared constant temperature water bath and fix the viscometer on the bracket with a clamp. Before fixing the position, the enlarged part of the capillary viscometer must be immersed in half. Turn on the power switch and stirring switch, adjust the desired temperature control point, and place the viscometer with the sample in a constant temperature water bath for at least ten minutes. The experimental temperature must be kept constant at 0.5 ℃.
Sample inhalation and timing: Use the rubber tube wrapped around the tube mouth of the capillary viscometer to suck the sample into the expanding part, so that the liquid level of the sample is slightly higher than the marking line, and be careful not to cause bubbles and cracks in the liquid in the capillary and expanding parts. Observe the flow of the sample in the tube, and start the stopwatch when the liquid level reaches the marked line; Stop the stopwatch when the liquid level reaches the marked line.
Data recording and repeated measurement: The time recorded with a stopwatch should be repeated four times, and the difference between each flow time and its arithmetic mean should meet certain requirements (such as when measuring viscosity at temperatures of 15-100 ℃, this difference should not exceed ± 0.5% of the arithmetic mean; when measuring viscosity at temperatures of -30-150 ℃, this difference should not exceed ± 1.5% of the arithmetic mean).
Experiment completion and cleaning: After the experiment is completed, repeat steps 2 and 3 to place the viscometer in place.
