Introduction to the Technical Principles and Applications of Oil Monitoring Instruments
Date: 2025-09-12Read: 3
Oil monitoring instrumentIt is a key tool used to evaluate the lubrication and wear status of equipment and predict faults. By analyzing the physical, chemical, and mechanical parameters in oil, it provides scientific basis for equipment maintenance and helps enterprises achieve intelligent transformation.
  Oil monitoring instrumentTechnical principle:
Optical particle counting method
Based on laser or LED beam irradiation of oil samples, particle size and quantity are measured by detecting the light signals scattered or absorbed by particles. This method can achieve particle size classification (such as>4 μ m,>6 μ m,>14 μ m) and generate ISO 4406 pollution level reports.
Electrochemical measurement technology
By detecting chemical parameters such as moisture and acid value in the oil through sensors, combined with intelligent algorithms to analyze the degree of oil aging. For example, a certain shipping company used this technology to test the lubricating oil of the main engine and found that the acid value exceeded the standard. After that, the oil was replaced in a timely manner to avoid the corrosion failure of the bearing shell.
Iron spectrum analysis technology
By using a magnetic field to deposit wear particles on a glass slide, the morphology, size distribution, and composition of the particles can be observed under a microscope to diagnose the type of equipment wear (such as fatigue wear and adhesive wear). This technology is the core means of determining the health status of components such as gearboxes and bearings.
Application scenarios of oil monitoring instrument:
Industrial equipment maintenance
Steel industry: Testing the lubricating oil of equipment such as rolling mills and blast furnaces to prevent equipment failures caused by poor lubrication.
Power industry: Monitor the lubricating oil and insulation oil of generator sets to ensure the safe and stable operation of the power grid.
Shipbuilding industry: Testing main and auxiliary engine oil to reduce the risk of suspension and improve operational efficiency.
energy sector
Oilfield operation: Evaluate the degree of metal wear of the lubricating oil in the gearbox of oil extraction equipment, and warn of mechanical failures.
Wind power generation: detecting the degree of oil contamination in the gearbox to extend the service life of the equipment.
transportation
Automobile manufacturing: Testing engine lubricating oil and fuel oil to avoid engine damage caused by pollution.
Aerospace: Monitor the hydraulic system oil of aircraft to ensure flight safety.
