The combination of force and accuracy: working principle and mechanical structure analysis of manual hydraulic punching machine
Date: 2025-12-12Read: 3

As a key equipment for testing the mechanical properties of materials, the manual hydraulic punching machine achieves high-precision and high-efficiency sample preparation through the coordination of hydraulic transmission and precision mechanical structure. Its core lies in converting human input into controllable hydraulic pressure, and ensuring standardization and repeatability of sample processing through modular design.

Working principle: Engineering application of Pascal's law
The manual hydraulic punching machine is based on Pascal's law and transmits pressure through manual operation of the hydraulic system. When operating, rotate the handwheel to drive the oil pump, and press the hydraulic oil from the oil tank into the upper chamber of the cylinder through the one-way valve, pushing the piston (pressure head) downward. When the pressure head contacts the forming tool, the hydraulic oil pressure is transmitted to the tool through the oil cylinder, applying uniform pressure to the sample material placed on the lower workbench to complete the punching process. When releasing pressure, open the check valve, hydraulic oil flows back to the tank, and the pressure head resets. This process ensures no loss in pressure transmission through the sealing design of the hydraulic system, achieving uniform force distribution on the sample. For example, a certain model of equipment has a maximum load of 50KN, a piston stroke of 50mm, and can punch rubber and plastic sheets with a thickness of ≤ 10mm.
Mechanical structure: modular design ensures accuracy and flexibility
The main body of the equipment consists of a hydraulic system, a mechanical actuator, and auxiliary modules. The hydraulic system includes an oil tank, a high-pressure oil pump, a one-way valve, and an oil cylinder, which are connected through precision pipelines to ensure stable pressure transmission; The mechanical actuator includes an upper/lower worktable, a pressure plate, a column, and a guiding device. The upper worktable integrates a magnetic knife holder, which can quickly fix standard cutting knives such as dumbbell shaped and bar shaped ones. The lower worktable is equipped with adjustable positioning pins to adapt to different sizes of samples; Auxiliary modules such as check valves, pressure gauges, and safety valves are used for pressure locking, real-time monitoring, and overload protection, respectively. For example, a certain device adopts a dual guide column design, combined with linear bearings, to control the head movement deviation within ± 0.02mm, meeting the requirements of international standards such as ISO527 for sample size accuracy.
Precision assurance: from material selection to process control
To ensure long-term accuracy, key components of the equipment are made of high-strength materials: the oil cylinder piston rod is quenched to a hardness of HRC52-55; The workbench is covered with a hard alloy coating, which increases wear resistance by three times; The guide column is made of 40Cr alloy steel, and after precision grinding, the surface roughness Ra is ≤ 0.8 μ m. In addition, the equipment is equipped with a pressure calibration device, and users can regularly calibrate it with a standard force gauge to control the pressure error within ± 1%. For example, a laboratory used this equipment to punch and cut rubber samples. In 100 consecutive tests, the thickness deviation of the samples was ≤ 0.05mm, verifying its high repeatability.
Application scenario: Full coverage from laboratory to production line
The manual hydraulic punching machine is widely used in rubber product factories, research institutes, and construction laboratories due to its portability and low cost advantages. In the rubber industry, equipment can quickly prepare dumbbell shaped specimens that meet the GB/T528 standard for tensile performance testing; In the field of construction, by replacing cutting tools, standard samples of waterproof rolls, insulation boards and other materials can be punched to assist in material quality testing. Its modular design also supports non-standard customization. For example, a company developed a customized pole piece punching mold for new energy batteries. By optimizing the blade seat structure, the punching accuracy was improved to ± 0.01mm, meeting the strict requirement of battery pole piece edge burrs ≤ 0.03mm.
The manual hydraulic punching machine achieves a balance between "force" and "accuracy" through the deep integration of hydraulic transmission and precision mechanical structure, becoming a fundamental equipment in the field of material testing.
