Technical requirements for jet fuel water separation performance tester
Date: 2025-08-18Read: 0
The jet fuel water separation performance tester is mainly used to evaluate the separation efficiency of water in jet fuel, which is crucial for ensuring fuel quality and flight safety. Its technical requirements usually cover aspects such as equipment performance standards, testing accuracy, operational stability, and service life. The following are some common technical requirements for jet fuel water separation performance testers:
1. Measurement range and accuracy
Moisture concentration measurement range: The instrument should be able to measure the range of moisture content in the fuel, usually requiring a measurement range of 0-1000ppm (some million concentrations), and can even be expanded to higher concentration ranges according to requirements.
Measurement accuracy: The accuracy requirement for instruments is usually ± 1% (or more accurate) to ensure the reliability and consistency of test results.
Minimum detection limit: The instrument should have good low limit detection capability, generally 1ppm or lower, to meet high-precision detection requirements.
2. Separation efficiency test
Moisture separation efficiency: The instrument should be able to measure the moisture separation efficiency of the fuel under different operating conditions (water temperature, pressure, etc.), and the error of the separation efficiency test is usually required to not exceed ± 2%.
Test time: The test cycle should be able to meet the water separation process of the fuel sample, usually requiring the test time to be controlled within 5-10 minutes to quickly determine the water separation performance of the fuel.
3. Temperature and pressure control
Temperature control range: The instrument needs to provide a wide range of temperature control capabilities, typically between 15 ° C and 80 ° C, to meet testing needs under different climatic and environmental conditions.
Pressure control capability: The instrument should be able to perform moisture separation performance tests at different pressures, with a common pressure range of 0 to 2 bar (relative pressure). This can simulate pressure changes in actual environments.
4. Flow control
Flow range and accuracy: The instrument should be able to control the flow rate of fuel samples to simulate actual fuel flow conditions, with a common flow range of 10-500ml/min. The flow accuracy should be within ± 1%.
Automatic flow regulation: To improve the automation and consistency of testing, the equipment can be equipped with an automatic flow regulation system.
5. Automation and Data Recording
Automated testing: The instrument should support automated operations, including automatic sample addition, automatic measurement, automatic moisture separation, and data recording, to reduce human operational errors.
Data recording and storage: The instrument should have data recording and storage functions, and be able to output data reports. The report should include key parameters such as water separation efficiency, measurement time, and sample concentration.
Data interface: The instrument should be equipped with standard data interfaces (such as USB, RS232, or Wi Fi) to facilitate connection with computers or laboratory management systems, enabling data analysis and remote control.
6. System stability and repeatability
Equipment stability: The test results of the instrument should have good repeatability, and the stability of the equipment during long-term operation should be verified. It is usually required that the equipment can operate continuously for more than 100 hours, and the result error is less than ± 2%.
Anti interference ability: The instrument needs to have strong anti-interference ability and be able to work stably under various environmental conditions (such as electromagnetic interference, high temperature, etc.).
7. Compliance with standards and safety requirements
Compliance with relevant standards: The equipment must comply with the quality standards for jet fuel, such as ASTMD975, MIL-PRF-38219, and other relevant specifications. These standards have clear regulations on moisture content, fuel impurities, and other aspects.
Safety design: Due to the testing involving flammable substances, the equipment should have good explosion-proof design and emergency shutdown function to ensure timely cutting off of power and fuel flow in case of abnormalities.
8. Easy to operate and maintain
User interface: The instrument should have a simple and intuitive operating interface, support touch screen or button operation, and be easy to quickly set and adjust.
Automatic cleaning function: The device should support automatic cleaning function to prevent moisture residue during the testing process from affecting subsequent test results.
Maintenance convenience: The equipment should be designed for easy daily inspection and maintenance, especially in the moisture detection sensor and flow control parts, which should have a structure that is easy to replace and clean.
9. Environmental adaptability
Temperature and humidity adaptability: The instrument should be able to operate normally within a wide range of environmental temperatures (5-40 ° C) and humidity, ensuring stable operation of the equipment in different laboratory environments.
The setting of these technical requirements aims to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and safety of the jet fuel water separation performance tester, and to improve the efficiency and repeatability of the testing.
