Performance and H2S content control of semi continuous anaerobic digestion of rural household waste for biogas production
Date: 2020-03-10Read: 3

Abstract:To investigate the anaerobic digestion process of rural household waste and its inhibition of H2S production, a semi continuous mixed reactor was used to conduct semi continuous anaerobic digestion experiments on rural household waste. The degradation performance, gas production performance, and stability of organic matter in the anaerobic digestion system under different organic loads were analyzed to determine the optimal organic load for anaerobic digestion of household waste. Simultaneously design sequencing batch anaerobic digestion experiments with different ratios of household waste and concentrated sludge to observe the changes in H2S content in biogas. The research results show that when the organic load is 4 g/(L · d), the methane production rate increases significantly, the system runs stably, and the organic matter utilization rate of household waste is high; As the amount of concentrated sludge added increases, the content of H2S decreases significantly. When the VS mass ratio (VS RSW: VS CS) of household waste to concentrated sludge is 1:0.25, 1:0.5, and 1:0.75, the degradation rates of H2S reach 85.15%, 88.18%, and 96.20%, respectively. The composition analysis of household waste and concentrated sludge shows that there is no significant difference in the metal content of the two materials, but the humus content in concentrated sludge is much higher than that in household waste. Therefore, it is judged that the humus content in sludge has a certain degree of impact on the production of H2S in anaerobic digestion systems.
