Portable hydrogen leak detector can monitor real-time changes in hydrogen concentration in the surrounding air
Date: 2025-08-17Read: 0
The portable hydrogen leak detector, designed specifically for hydrogen leak detection, features small size, light weight, and easy operation, making it particularly suitable for real-time on-site monitoring of hydrogen gas. Its widespread application not only ensures the safe use of hydrogen, but also provides effective technical support for hydrogen monitoring in industrial production.

  Portable hydrogen leak detectorWorking principle:
1. Electrochemical sensors:
Electrochemical sensors are a common type of sensor. Its working principle is to generate current through the reaction between hydrogen gas and the electrodes inside the sensor, and then convert the current signal into a hydrogen concentration value. Electrochemical sensors have high sensitivity and stability, making them suitable for detecting low concentrations of hydrogen gas.
2. Catalytic combustion sensor:
Catalytic combustion sensors detect the concentration of hydrogen gas by generating heat through catalytic reactions. When hydrogen gas comes into contact with the catalytic surface, an oxidation reaction occurs, releasing heat and changing the resistance of the sensor. This type of sensor is mainly used for detecting high concentration hydrogen gas.
3. Infrared sensor:
Infrared sensors use hydrogen molecules to detect the absorption characteristics of infrared light. By analyzing the characteristic wavelength of infrared light absorbed by gases, the concentration of gases can be accurately measured. Infrared sensors are suitable for detecting various gases, but they are usually expensive.
Characteristics of portable hydrogen leak detector:
1. Miniaturization and portability:
The instrument design takes into account the requirements of on-site applications, usually with a portable handheld shape, light weight, easy operation, and suitable for long-term carrying and operation. Whether in the factory workshop, laboratory, or during hydrogen transportation, staff can easily carry the instrument for real-time monitoring.
2. Real time detection and response:
The instrument is capable of real-time monitoring of changes in hydrogen concentration in the surrounding air. Once a hydrogen leak is detected, the instrument will promptly sound and light an alarm to remind operators to take appropriate safety measures. Instruments usually have high sensitivity and fast response time, ensuring timely detection of hydrogen leakage issues.
3. Multiple gas detection functions:
Although the main function is to detect hydrogen leaks, some instruments also have multi gas detection capabilities, which can simultaneously monitor other hazardous gases such as ammonia, methane, carbon monoxide, etc. This multifunctional design makes the instrument more widely applicable and suitable for various industrial environments.
4. Long term stable work:
By using high-precision sensors and advanced battery technology, it is usually possible to provide long-term continuous operation. When long-term monitoring or inspection is required, the instrument can ensure stable performance output and reduce the frequency of charging and battery replacement.
5. Strong anti-interference ability:
When designing, various environmental factors such as temperature, humidity, and the influence of other gases are usually taken into account. By adopting various anti-interference techniques, the instrument can maintain high detection accuracy even in complex environments.
