Oil Distillation Range Tester Used for Distillation Determination of Petroleum Products
Date: 2025-06-23Read: 1
The oil distillation range analyzer is a specialized instrument used for the distillation determination of petroleum products, mainly used to determine the distillation range (i.e. boiling point range) of petroleum products, in order to evaluate their evaporation performance and purity.
1、 The function of oil distillation range tester:
1. Determination of distillation range:
By heating the petroleum sample and measuring its boiling point range from the initial boiling point to the final boiling point, the distillation range curve can be obtained.
Distillation range is an important indicator for measuring the evaporation characteristics of petroleum products, which directly affects their combustion performance and applicability.
2. Evaluate the quality of oil products:
By analyzing the distillation range data, the ratio of light and heavy components in the oil can be determined to evaluate whether it meets the standard requirements.
For example, the distillation range of gasoline directly affects its starting performance and combustion efficiency, while the distillation range of diesel affects its atomization and combustion efficiency.
3. Quality control and testing:
In the process of petroleum refining and processing, distillation range measuring instruments are used to monitor the quality of oil products and ensure that the products comply with national standards or industry specifications.
It can also be used for incoming inspection, factory testing, and research and development experiments.
2、 The oil distillation range analyzer is usually based on distillation method, and the specific steps are as follows:
1. Sample heating:
Add a certain amount of petroleum sample into a distillation flask and heat the sample through a heating device.
2. Evaporation and condensation:
The light components in the sample first evaporate, enter the condenser tube and cool to liquid, and are collected in the receiving container.
Condensation tubes are usually cooled by air or water to ensure sufficient condensation of steam.
3. Distillation range record:
Real time monitoring of temperature changes during the distillation process through temperature sensors, recording key data such as initial boiling point, 50% distillation temperature, 90% distillation temperature, and final boiling point.
Some instruments can automatically draw distillation range curves and calculate relevant parameters.
3、 The main components of the oil distillation range tester are:
1. Distillation flask:
Used to hold petroleum samples, typically in standard glass or stainless steel containers.
2. Heating device:
Electric stove or constant temperature bath, used for uniformly heating the sample in the distillation flask.
3. Condensation system:
Including condenser tubes and cooling devices (such as air cooling or water cooling systems), used to condense evaporated steam into liquid.
4. Temperature measurement and control system:
High precision temperature sensors are used for real-time monitoring of distillation temperature.
Some instruments are equipped with automatic temperature control systems to ensure stable heating processes.
5. Receiving container:
Used to collect condensed distillate, usually in graduated test tubes or graded receivers.
6. Data processing and recording system:
Manual recording: By manually reading and recording the temperature.
Automatic recording: equipped with data collectors and software, real-time display and storage of distillation range data, and generation of reports.
