As an important equipment for modern material synthesis and chemical analysis, the microwave hydrothermal reactor's ability to withstand pressure directly affects the stability and safety of experiments. This article will provide an in-depth analysis of its pressure parameters, influencing factors, and safety control points.
1、 Range of pressure parameters
The design pressure of microwave hydrothermal kettles is usually between 3MPa and 6MPa, and some advanced models can withstand a maximum pressure of 10MPa. For example, the Hydrocube XH-800SE equipment has a maximum working pressure of 6MPa, a maximum pressure resistance of 10MPa, and a pressure measurement accuracy of ± 0.01MPa. In practical experiments, the pressure range needs to be calculated based on the saturated vapor pressure of the solvent. For example, at a high temperature of 260 ℃, the saturated vapor pressure of water is about 6.4MPa. At this time, a kettle body with a pressure resistance of ≥ 10MPa needs to be selected.
2、 Analysis of influencing factors
1. Material strength: The material of the kettle directly affects its pressure bearing capacity. The pressure of the kettle body processed with 304 stainless steel is about 20MPa, while the outer tank made of PEEK composite material can significantly improve the pressure resistance performance. Although the corrosion resistance of inner liner materials such as PTFE or TFM is good, they need to be combined with high-strength shells to exert their pressure advantages.
2. Structural design: The quality of thread processing is a key factor. Threads with large and deep pitch can withstand greater pressure, but the processing cost is higher; Threads with small and shallow pitch have weaker pressure bearing capacity. The fully enclosed threaded design can increase the pressure bearing capacity of the tank body and lid by more than 30%.
3. Temperature control: For every 10 ℃ increase in temperature, the saturated vapor pressure of the solvent increases by about 0.3MPa. For example, the vapor pressure of water is 1.55MPa at 200 ℃, and it rises to 6.4MPa at 260 ℃. In the experiment, temperature fluctuations need to be controlled within ± 1 ℃ through automatic adjustment of microwave power or external cooling system.
3、 Key points of safety control
1. Real time monitoring: equipped with a 0.01MP pressure sensor, synchronously displaying temperature and pressure curves, with a detection frequency of 150-200 data/second. When the pressure exceeds the set value, the system needs to automatically cut off microwave transmission within 0.5 seconds.
2. Pressure relief protection: Adopting a dual protection mechanism of safety explosion-proof membrane and pressure relief hole. When the pressure exceeds 10MPa, gas rushes out from the pressure relief hole and breaks through the inner cover skirt to prevent deformation of the tank body.
3. Operation specifications: Sufficient space should be left when filling materials, and the volume of materials should not exceed 70% of the capacity of the kettle. The selection of solvents should be cautious, and exothermic solvents such as hydrogen peroxide should be paired with a kettle body with a pressure gauge and exhaust valve.

The pressure bearing capacity of microwave hydrothermal reactors is the core guarantee for experimental safety. By rational selection, precise temperature control, and standardized operation, it can ensure stable operation within the pressure range of 3-10MPa, providing reliable support for experiments such as nanomaterial synthesis and heavy metal detection.
