The core of daily maintenance of silicate analyzer is to protect the core components (electrodes/detection units), keep the flow path clean, and perform regular calibration and verification to ensure stable detection accuracy and extend equipment life. Specific operations can be simplified according to the "daily, weekly, monthly" cycle:
1、 Daily maintenance: Basic cleaning and status check (5-10 minutes)
Cleaning of flow path and detection unit
After the analysis is completed, rinse the injection pipeline, reaction tank, and detection unit (such as colorimetric dishes and electrodes) with ultrapure water (resistivity ≥ 18.2M Ω· cm) 2-3 times to avoid residual water samples (containing silicates and reagents) scaling or corroding parts - especially if detecting high concentration water samples (such as industrial circulating water), extend the flushing time to prevent pipeline blockage.
Equipment appearance and condition inspection
Check if there are no errors on the instrument display screen (such as "flow path blockage" or "insufficient reagent" prompts), and if the indicator lights are normal (the power and running lights are always on, and there are no fault red lights);
Check the liquid level of reagent bottles (such as ammonium molybdate, sulfuric acid, reducing agent), and replenish them in a timely manner when it is below 1/3 to avoid empty bottles causing damage to the pump body due to idling.
2、 Weekly maintenance: Key component maintenance and performance verification (15-20 minutes)
Core component maintenance
If it is a colorimetric silicate analyzer: take out the colorimetric dish and wipe the outer wall with a soft cloth dipped in ultrapure water (to avoid fingerprints and stains affecting the light signal). If there is slight scaling on the inner wall, soak it in 5% dilute nitric acid for 5 minutes and then rinse it with ultrapure water (do not use a hard brush to scratch, to prevent scratching of the colorimetric dish);
If it is an electrode based silicate analyzer: check if there are any attachments on the electrode surface, gently wipe it with soft paper dipped in ultrapure water, and soak the electrode in a dedicated activation solution for 30 minutes per month (according to the recommended model in the manual) to restore electrode sensitivity.
Pipeline sealing inspection
Observe whether there is any leakage at the interface of the sample tube and waste liquid tube (especially the peristaltic pump tube, which needs to be replaced in a timely manner if it ages or cracks), to avoid low detection results or damage to the internal circuit of the equipment caused by leakage.
3、 Monthly maintenance: calibration verification and consumables replacement (about 30 minutes)
Single point/two-point calibration
Calibrate with standard silicate solution (such as 100 μ g/L, 500 μ g/L, matching with daily detection range):
According to the instrument operation procedure, inject the standard solution into the injection port. If the deviation between the detected value and the standard value is greater than ± 5% (or exceeds the allowable range in the manual), the "calibration procedure" needs to be executed to adjust the instrument coefficient to the qualified deviation;
After calibration, measure the "blank value" with ultrapure water, and the blank value should be less than 5 μ g/L (to ensure no residual interference).
Consumables replacement
Peristaltic pump tube: If used frequently (such as daily testing>10 times), replace it once a month to avoid inaccurate injection volume caused by wear on the inner wall of the tube;
Filter cartridge (if the device is equipped with a preprocessing unit): Remove the filter cartridge, and if blockage or discoloration (such as yellowing or impurities) is found, replace it directly with a new filter cartridge to prevent impurities from entering the detection unit and affecting the results.
4、 Long term storage and special maintenance
If the device is not in use for more than one week: first thoroughly rinse the flow path with ultrapure water, empty the reagent bottle, soak the electrode in the corresponding protective solution (such as electrode specific storage solution), turn off the power and cover it with a dust cover to prevent dust from entering;
Avoid severe vibrations (such as handling mobile devices with care), stay away from strong magnetic fields and high temperature environments (such as direct sunlight or near heating), and prevent damage to electronic components or detection units.
Summary: Maintain core principles
Daily maintenance does not require complex operations, with a focus on "timely cleaning to prevent residue, regular calibration to ensure accuracy, and replacement of parts as needed to prevent malfunctions". Through simple periodic operations, more than 90% of detection deviations (such as result drift and high values) caused by improper maintenance can be avoided, ensuring the long-term stable operation of the silicate analyzer (especially suitable for daily monitoring scenarios such as industrial circulating water and boiler water).
