Diesel fuel is classified as No. 10 based on its pour point On the 5th number. There are seven grades: 10, 20, 36, and -50. It is mainly used in compression ignition engines, that is, diesel engines. Due to their higher thermal efficiency, greater power, lower fuel consumption, and more economical nature compared to gasoline engines, diesel engines have become increasingly widely used in recent years. 1. Chromaticity (tested according to GB/T 6540)

2. Oxidation stability (tested according to SH/T 0175) 3. Sulfur content (tested according to GB/T 380)

In a diesel engine, diesel is sprayed into the engine cylinder in the form of mist. If the viscosity is too high, atomization will be poor, spraying will be uneven, mixing with air will be poor, combustion will be poor, and mechanical wear will occur; If the viscosity is too low, it will cause wear on the pump that transports diesel, so the viscosity must be moderate.

Diesel has a high density and contains many large molecular weight alkanes. These alkanes have a high pour point and crystallize at low temperatures, causing the diesel to lose its fluidity and interrupting its fuel supply, making it unable to operate normally. Therefore, it is an important indicator of diesel, and the grade of diesel is determined by its pour point.
