The flow injection analyzer can complete the analysis of a large number of samples in a short period of time
Date: 2025-11-16Read: 0
Flow injection analyzer is an automated instrument system used for analyzing chemical samples, widely used in fields such as environmental monitoring, food testing, pharmaceutical analysis, and life sciences. The basic principle is to inject the liquid sample into the flowing carrier liquid through a syringe, and generate chemical reactions and measurement signals when passing through the analysis module, ultimately obtaining the relevant analysis data of the sample.

Flow injection analyzerThe structural composition of:
1. Sample injection system: including components such as syringes and injection pumps. The syringe is responsible for accurately injecting the sample to be analyzed into the carrier fluid flow, while the injection pump ensures that the sample can be stably and uniformly distributed in the flow system.
2. Flow system: usually composed of pipelines, valves, pumps, etc. The flow system ensures the transport and reaction of samples in the carrier liquid, while also controlling parameters such as flow rate and flux to ensure the accuracy of analysis results.
3. Reaction system: mainly consisting of reaction tanks or reaction tubes. In a reaction system, a chemical reaction occurs between a sample and a reagent, generating a substance that can be measured by a detector. The design of this system needs to consider factors such as reaction rate and reaction conditions.
4. Detection system: including photometer, electrochemical analyzer, fluorescence detector, etc. The detection system is responsible for detecting the physical and chemical signals of the reaction products and converting them into data. Common detection methods include UV visible spectroscopy, fluorescence spectroscopy, electrochemical methods, etc.
5. Data processing system: The data processing system is responsible for collecting and analyzing detection data, usually composed of computers and related software. The system can provide functions such as automatic calculation, storage, and output of results, as well as further analysis of data.
Application Scenario:
1. Environmental monitoring: FIA is widely used in environmental fields such as water quality analysis, air pollution detection, and soil pollution monitoring. It can achieve rapid detection of pollutants in water such as heavy metals, pesticides, chemical oxygen demand (COD), ammonia nitrogen, etc., meeting the real-time monitoring needs of environmental protection.
2. Food safety testing: In the food industry, FIA is used to analyze additives, pesticide residues, heavy metal contamination, etc. in food. Due to its high efficiency and sensitivity, FIA can provide accurate detection results for food production and regulation.
3. Clinical analysis: FIA is widely used in medicine and clinical laboratories for the analysis of biological samples such as blood, urine, and body fluids. For example, it can be used to detect indicators such as sugar, cholesterol, and enzyme activity in serum, thereby helping doctors make early diagnoses of diseases.
4. Drug analysis: Quality control and analysis of drugs are also important applications of FIA. By analyzing the active ingredients, impurities, and other chemical components in drugs, FIA can provide accurate quality testing data for drug manufacturers.
5. Life science research: FIA can be used for analytical work in biological experiments, such as enzyme activity determination, protein quantification analysis, DNA/RNA quantification, etc.
Advantages of Flow Injection Analyzer:
1. High throughput and efficiency: With a high degree of automation, it can complete the analysis of a large number of samples in a short period of time.
2. High sensitivity: capable of detecting extremely low concentrations of substances, suitable for trace analysis.
3. Easy to operate: Compared with traditional analysis methods, FIA does not require complex operations and multiple reagent additions, saving time and labor costs.
4. Cost effectiveness: FIA equipment requires a large one-time investment, but the long-term cost is relatively low, especially suitable for large-scale online monitoring.
