Daily maintenance and upkeep of ion chromatography columns
The storage methods for chromatographic columns vary depending on the filling material used. Generally speaking, most anion separation columns are stored under alkaline conditions, while cation separation columns are stored under acidic conditions. When storing for a long time (more than 30 days), first pump the preservation solution into the column as required, then remove the column from the instrument, block both ends of the column with a non porous joint, and store it at a low temperature. Not needed for a short period of time, the instrument should be turned on at least once a week and run for 1-2 hours.
