CMC Trace Water Analyzer is a high-precision instrument used to detect trace water content in gases or liquids
Date: 2025-08-21Read: 1
The CMC trace water analyzer is a high-precision moisture detection instrument based on the principle of electrolysis, widely used in industries such as chemical, petroleum, and electronics. Using electrolysis methods (such as phosphorus pentoxide electrolysis) or fiber optic sensor technology, the content is calculated by analyzing the hydrogen oxygen ratio produced by water decomposition.
Adopting a phosphorus pentoxide (P ₂ O ₅) sensor, utilizing the principle of electrolyzing water molecules into hydrogen and oxygen. The sensor consists of a glass cylinder and two parallel electrodes, with a phosphoric acid (H3PO4) film layer coated between the electrodes. The electrolysis current decomposes the water in the acid into H ₂ and O ₂, and the product P ₂ O ₅ absorbs water from the sample gas. Balance is established through continuous electrolysis, and the electrolysis current is proportional to the water content of the sample gas. The signal is amplified and displayed for reading.
Performance Characteristics
High precision: The measurement accuracy is better than ± 1% of the full range, and the sensitivity is better than ± 0.1% of the full range.
Quick response: response time less than 1 second, T50 response less than 8 seconds, capable of real-time monitoring of gas micro water changes.
Strong adaptability: Suitable for measuring trace moisture in inert gases such as Xe, Ar, Kr, He, ordinary gases such as N ₂, H ₂, O ₂, as well as high-purity acid gases and combustible gases such as Cl ₂, HCl, SO ₂ (except for a few gases that react chemically with phosphoric acid).
Versatile features: fully microprocessor controlled, with automatic range switching, remote control, self diagnostic functions, 2 alarm outputs, 5 range indicator outputs, 1 analog range output, and RS232 communication interface.
The CMC trace water analyzer, with phosphorus pentoxide electrolysis as its core, has become an important tool for moisture detection in industries such as chemical, petroleum, and electronics through high-precision, fast response, and corrosion-resistant design. Its product line covers both fixed and portable needs, and users can flexibly choose according to their scenarios, budgets, and precision requirements. Despite the high cost of sensors, their long-term stability and low maintenance requirements still make them highly cost-effective.
