The study of gas flux is key to understanding the driving factors of climate change, providing theoretical support for predicting the climate response of ecosystems at multiple scales, and providing important theoretical basis for making short - and long-term ecosystem management decisions. The 1st and 2nd Greenhouse Gas Flux Workshops were held in Potsdam, Germany in 2015 and 2017, respectively.
The physical and physiological processes of greenhouse gas flux occur continuously and simultaneously at different spatial scales of ecosystems (leaves, soil surface, canopy, regions). However, many current studies typically focus on a single scale. Therefore, this seminar aims to increase the exchange and communication among scholars in different spatial scale research fields. The seminar has invited scholars from relevant fields within the scope, who will share cutting-edge research results and important discoveries. The theme report will cover various research areas, including leaf photosynthesis, soil greenhouse gas emissions, greenhouse gas and energy fluxes at the canopy and field scales, and remote sensing monitoring of greenhouse gas fluxes at the regional scale.
The first three days of this seminar were theme reports, and the the fourth day was training and demonstration of new technologies for greenhouse gas flux measurement, including leaf photosynthesis measurement, soil greenhouse gas exchange measurement, canopy and field vorticity covariance greenhouse gas and energy flux measurement and other technologies.
The seminar encourages participants to share and exchange academic research results in the form of posters. The poster display will continue throughout the entire conference. The relevant achievements presented by the attendees will have the opportunity to be published in the special issue of Atmosphere Journal conference.
