Hengaode Instrument1000mgLOperating principle of suspended solids analyzer
Mainly based on optical detection technology, the concentration of suspended solids is estimated by measuring the scattering or transmission characteristics of suspended particles in water samples. The following is a summary of the core principles and operational points:
Measuring principle
Suspended solids measuring instruments usually use optical methods such as infrared scattering light technology or photoelectric colorimetry. Light source (such asLEDInfrared light sources emit light beams of specific wavelengths through water samples, and suspended particles scatter or absorb the light, resulting in a decrease in transmitted light intensity. The intensity of scattered or transmitted light is directly proportional to the concentration of suspended solids. The instrument receives light signals through sensors such as silicon photovoltaic cells, converts them into electrical signals, and then calculates the concentration value of suspended solids using a preset algorithm (such as absorbance conversion technology) through a microprocessor.
Some advanced instruments use multi beam technology (such as dual beam or four beam) to emit and receive light from different angles, and reduce interference (such as uneven particle distribution or chromatic influence) through signal superposition and compensation, improving measurement accuracy.

6 Infrared light sources are less sensitive to changes in water color and turbidity compared to visible light, making them suitable for complex water samples such as industrial wastewater
operating steps
preparation:
Calibration instrument: Use standard suspension solution (such asNISTPerform automatic zeroing or multi-point calibration according to the standard to ensure accurate data.
Clean the sampleEnsure that there are no residues in the measuring cell and optical components to avoid contamination; After sampling, the water sample should be thoroughly mixed to prevent particle settling.
Measurement operation:
Sampling and PlacementCollect representative water samples and pour them into the measuring pool, taking care to avoid bubbles or excess.
Start measurement: Select mode (such as total suspended solids)TSS)Start the instrument. Modern instruments usually automatically complete optical path detection and concentration calculation, and the results are directly displayed in unitsmg/LorPPM).
Data processing and maintenance:
Read resultsThe instrument displays concentration values and records data for analysis if necessary.
maintenanceClean the measuring tank after each use; Regular calibration (recommended monthly or quarterly); Check the status of the light source and receiver to avoid contamination affecting the precisiondegree
