Industrial laser rangefinder is a high-precision device used for measuring distance in industrial environments
Date: 2025-06-11Read: 20
Industrial laser rangefinders play an important role in the industrial field, mainly used for high-precision measurement and automation control. Industrial laser rangefinder accurately calculates the distance between the sensor and the target object by emitting a laser beam and receiving the laser signal reflected back from the target object, based on the time difference between the laser round-trip and the speed of light. This non-contact measurement method has higher accuracy and faster response speed compared to traditional contact measurement.
Industrial laser rangefinders are mainly based on time-of-flight (TOF) or phase difference methods for distance measurement:
Time of flight method: The laser rangefinder emits a short pulse laser beam, which is reflected back when it encounters the target object. The rangefinder receives the reflected laser signal and measures the time from emission to reception of the laser (time of flight), multiplied by the speed of light, to calculate the distance to the target.
Phase difference method: The laser rangefinder emits continuously modulated laser signals, which interact with the target object during propagation, resulting in phase changes. The receiver receives the reflected laser signal and compares it with the transmitted signal, measures the phase difference, and calculates the distance to the target based on the relationship between the phase difference and modulation frequency.
main purpose
Precision machining: Industrial laser rangefinders can achieve millimeter level or even higher precision measurements, meeting the high-precision requirements for size, position, and other aspects in industrial production.
Automated production: On automated production lines, laser rangefinders are used for part positioning and size detection to ensure production accuracy and efficiency. Especially in the field of automobile manufacturing, it can monitor the body size in real time to ensure manufacturing quality.
Robotics technology: Laser ranging sensors can measure the position, size, and shape of objects in real-time and accurately, providing critical data for automation control and precise operation. They help robots achieve accurate grasping, assembly, and handling tasks, improving production efficiency and quality.
Construction: Used for verticality detection, distance measurement, and topographic mapping of buildings, helping construction personnel quickly and accurately obtain data, ensuring project quality and construction safety.
Logistics warehousing: In automated three-dimensional warehouses, laser rangefinders are used for locating goods and navigating stackers to ensure accurate storage and retrieval of goods, improving storage space utilization and logistics operation efficiency.
