Storage and maintenance of cryovials
Date: 2025-06-16Read: 20

The strain preservation tube mainly consists of three parts: preservation solution, preservation tube, and small ceramic beads. It is a container for laboratory preservation of strains, used for the preservation or transfer of strains. Generally, there are 25 small ceramic beads in the strain preservation tube for bacterial adsorption and preservation.

Cryovial tubeMade of transparent polymer polypropylene (PP) material, the O-ring is made of silicone material, which seals tightly and meets the requirements of air transportation; The spherical design of the pipe mouth and the tight screw cap ensure that the liquid does not leak out, the pipe wall is uniform and transparent, free of cleaning, and meets the drop test verification standards; Used for biological storage of samples, sample packaging, automated equipment operation, medical research, environmental engineering, pharmaceuticals, food industry, as well as cell biology and molecular biology, animal diseases, etc.
Operating standards and precautions:
Freezing process:
Cell cryopreservation: Mix cell suspension and cryopreservation solution at a ratio of 1:1 to 1:2, and gradually cool down (4 ℃ → -20 ℃ → -80 ℃ → liquid nitrogen);
Strain preservation: Drop the bacterial suspension into a preservation tube containing ceramic beads, shake and adsorb to remove residual liquid, and store directly at -80 ℃.
Key points for thawing:
Immediately place the liquid nitrogen in a 37 ℃ water bath after removal, shake and dissolve for ≤ 1 minute;
After thawing, wipe the pipe mouth with alcohol and open the lid inside the ultra clean table to prevent contamination.
Storage and maintenance:
Storage location:
Liquid nitrogen tank: only stored in the gas phase layer (risk of liquid phase leakage);
-80 ℃ refrigerator: placed upright to avoid stacking.
Periodic inspection:
Monthly inspection of pipe body cracks/deformations;
Annual cleaning of freezer frosting (maintaining uniform temperature).
