Working Principle:

Catalytic combustion type: using methane to undergo oxidation reaction on the surface of the catalytic element, releasing heat to increase the temperature of the platinum wire and change the resistance value. The change in resistance is linearly related to methane concentration, and the resistance signal is converted into a voltage signal through a bridge circuit. After amplification and processing, the concentration is displayed.

Infrared absorption formula: Methane molecules selectively absorb specific wavelengths of infrared light. The instrument emits infrared light through the gas to be tested, and the receiver, based on the degree of attenuation of the light intensity, uses the Lambert method-Bill's law calculates methane concentration.

Semiconductor type: with metal oxide semiconductor as the core, methane adsorption on the semiconductor surface will change its carrier concentration, resulting in a change in resistance value. The methane concentration is determined by measuring the resistance change rate.

Photoionization formula: Illuminate gas with ultraviolet light to ionize methane molecules and generate an ion current, and calculate the concentration by detecting the current intensity.

Methane detectorAccording to usage, it can be divided into two types: fixed and portable:

Fixed methane detector: suitable for continuous monitoring of methane concentration in fixed locations, such as mine tunnels, chemical workshops, etc. It is usually installed at the location that needs to be monitored, transmitting data to the monitoring center through wired or wireless means to achieve remote monitoring and alarm.

Portable methane detector: a portable mobile detection device that is commonly used for inspection operations and temporary monitoring needs. It usually has the characteristics of small and lightweight, easy operation, and fast response speed, making it suitable for rapid detection in multiple locations.
