The fixed odor monitoring device is the core equipment for real-time monitoring of odor pollutants in the environment, and its installation quality directly affects the accuracy of monitoring data and the reliability of system operation. The key installation points are explained from four dimensions: site selection principles, equipment layout, electrical safety, and commissioning calibration
1、 Scientific Site Selection - Ensuring Data Representativeness
Close to pollution sources: Priority should be given to selecting downwind positions near the main odor emission outlets (such as chimneys and exhaust pipes), taking into account the boundaries of the factory area and sensitive points (residential and office areas), and comprehensively reflecting the pollution diffusion path.
Avoiding interference areas: Avoid strong electromagnetic interference sources (high-voltage cables), high temperature and humidity environments (near boiler rooms), and frequent vibration areas to prevent signal distortion or mechanical damage.
Meteorological adaptability: If the monitoring area is rainy/dusty, additional rain shelters and air filtration devices need to be installed; When installing outdoors, it is recommended to use a sunshade to reduce the impact of direct sunlight on the sensor.
Multi point collaboration strategy: It is recommended to deploy multiple monitoring terminals in a grid like manner for large factory areas, integrate data through a central control system, and achieve full spatial coverage.
2、 Reasonable layout - ensuring the effectiveness of sampling
Design of intake duct: The sampling probe should extend to the core area of odor dissipation, and the inner diameter of the duct should match the fan airflow to avoid excessive bending and gas retention; A condensate drainage outlet should be installed in the horizontal section to prevent the accumulation of liquid from corroding the pipeline.
Installation height and angle: Adjust the probe height according to the target gas density - gases heavier than air (such as hydrogen sulfide) should be installed at a low position; Light gases (volatile organic compounds) require high-level deployment. The probe should face directly towards the airflow direction to improve capture efficiency.
Preprocessing unit configuration: The pre filter can intercept dust and oil stains, extending the lifespan of the sensor; The heat tracing pipeline is used in humid environments to prevent water vapor condensation from blocking the pathway.
3、 Electrical safety - building a solid foundation for operation
Power supply stability: adopting an independent air circuit breaker and equipped with a stable power supply module to avoid voltage fluctuations damaging the circuit; Remote areas can be connected to UPS uninterruptible power supply to cope with sudden power outages.
Lightning protection and grounding: The equipment casing and metal pipelines must be reliably grounded with a grounding resistance of ≤ 4 Ω; Surge protectors need to be installed in areas with frequent lightning strikes to prevent induced lightning strikes.
Cable protection: Strong and weak electrical cables are separately routed through pipes, threaded through galvanized steel pipes, and sealed with waterproof tape at the joints to eliminate the risk of electrical leakage.
4、 Precise debugging - unleashing device performance
Zero point and range calibration: After preheating with power on, clean air is introduced for zero point calibration; Use standard concentration gases (such as sulfur-containing compounds and amine mixed standard gases) to calibrate the range and correct nonlinear errors.
Parameter localization setting: Adjust the compensation algorithm based on the temperature and humidity range on site, set a reasonable alarm threshold (generally 20% lower than the emission limit), and link the sound and light warning device.
Network testing verification: remotely view data upload status through the Internet of Things platform, simulate abnormal working conditions to test warning response time, and ensure timely information transmission.
5、 Maintenance Reserve - Extend Service Life
Easy replacement of vulnerable parts: Place consumables such as filters, pumps, and valves in modular compartments that can be quickly disassembled to shorten maintenance downtime.
Identification and recording: Mark the number, calibration date, and responsible person in a prominent location on the equipment, establish a "one machine, one file" management ledger, and record each maintenance operation.
