Product packaging printingIt is a crucial stage before a product enters the market circulation, and its technology selection, process design, and quality control directly affect the sales performance and brand image of the product. The following analysis will be conducted from three dimensions: technology, process, and precautions:
Product packaging printingCore technology comparison:
Non contact printing technology
Ink jet type: tiny ink dots are sprayed onto the packaging surface through a nozzle to form dot matrix handwriting. Suitable for various materials such as metal, plastic, glass, etc., with adjustable handwriting height (from a few millimeters to over 50 millimeters). The advantage lies in its strong adaptability to operating conditions, but it requires regular maintenance of the nozzle to prevent clogging.
Laser printing method: using a high-energy laser beam to burn and discolor the packaging surface, forming handwriting. Effective on metal and coated paper, it can present frost or etching effects; Invalid for polypropylene and polyethylene films, but can be used for printing packaging paper inside the film. Laser printing has high precision, but the equipment cost is relatively high.
Contact printing technology
Wet printing: Ink is directly printed onto the packaging surface through seals, plates, or rollers, or indirectly printed through transfer rollers. Low cost but ink is prone to splashing and requires drying time, which may affect production efficiency.
Hot printing: Using hot melt ink, transfer the handwriting to the packaging by heating. The handwriting is clear and dries quickly, but the equipment price is high and needs to be stopped to replace the substrate roll.
Industrial printing technology
Flexographic printing: suitable for mass production, high color reproduction, supports various materials such as cardboard, plastic, film, etc.
Offset printing: Provides high-precision image effects and is commonly used for high-quality printing of paper packaging boxes.
Screen printing: It can achieve special effects such as metallic texture and relief, and is commonly used for packaging.
UV printing: With strong color saturation, it is suitable for printing high-quality patterns and details, but the equipment cost is relatively high.
