The basic principle and application of headspace sampler

Headspace sampler is an automated sampling device widely used in chemical analysis, particularly suitable for the analysis of volatile compounds. It separates the volatile components in the sample from a closed container and then introduces these gas samples into an analytical instrument for detection. 1、 Basic principles
  Headspace SamplerThe working principle is based on the law of gas distribution. Firstly, place the sample into a sealed container, and the temperature control system inside the container will heat the sample, causing the volatile components in the sample to transform from solid or liquid to gas. Over time, a gas equilibrium state will form inside the container, where the components in the gas reach equilibrium with the volatile substances in the sample. By extracting the gas above the container (i.e. headspace gas), these volatile components can be introduced into a gas chromatograph for analysis.
