Operation steps of drop ball impact testing machine

Experimental steps
1. Determine the height of the ball drop based on the characteristics and dimensions of the sample. After determining the height of the ball drop, loosen the upper sliding sleeve fixing handwheel (see diagram), adjust the height of the upper sliding sleeve, align the upper edge of the upper sliding sleeve with the scale size (see diagram) (standard ball drop height+sample height), and then tighten the upper sliding sleeve fixing handwheel (see diagram).

2Adjustment of the capture device: Adjust the anti secondary impact device so that the distance between its bottom surface and the upper end surface of the sample is 40mm. The adjustment method is to loosen the fixed handwheel of the capture mechanism (see diagram), determine the size, and then tighten the fixed handwheel of the capture mechanism (see diagram).

3Placement of sphere: First, move the release handle (as shown in the diagram) to the ON position, and push one end of the sphere plane upwards into the suction chamber,

4Sample placement: Place the sample on the supporting jaw (as shown in the diagram), adjust the fixed pressure block to press the sample tightly with a ruler.

5Experimental process: After the above work is completed, the drop ball impact test can be carried out. Firstly, take out the sample from the low-temperature freezer and place it on the jaw of the impact machine. Move the release handle (as shown in the diagram) to the release position, and the sphere will fall freely to impact the sample. After the sample is impacted, the sphere rebounds and enters the capture chamber. The sphere is blocked by a card and remains in the capture chamber (if the sample breaks after being impacted and the sphere does not rebound, it is normal for the process of capturing the sphere to differ from the above process). Then remove the capture chamber circular tube (as shown in the diagram), take out the sphere, and insert the capture chamber circular tube (as shown in the diagram). Press the reset button to reset the capture device and prepare for the next experiment.
