Indocyanine green (ICG) is commonly used as a fluorescent dye in medical fluorescence imaging. This is because the optical window of biological tissue penetrates deeply within the range of 650 nm to 1350 nm and has a significant effect in the near-infrared wavelength range. The main absorption spectrum of ICG is between 600nm-900nm, while the generated fluorescence is between 750-950nm, with a characteristic peak at around 810nm wavelength.Therefore, ICG solution has been widely used in the medical field. When its powder is dissolved in sterile water, it can be prepared into a high concentration injection solution, which is often used in applications such as liver function research (preoperative testing for large liver surgeries), ophthalmic angiography (examination of blood vessels and other structures in the eye), and lymphatic mapping (lymph nodes, lymphatic vessels, and lymphatic fluid).
