Vicat temperature testerThe usage method is as follows:
Power on preparation:
Before turning on the instrument power and starting the supporting software, it is necessary to check whether the hardware connections are accurate and correct, including the connection between the displacement sensor, temperature sensor, and the aviation plug of the mixing motor and the corresponding interface of the equipment.
The instrument should be placed on a dry, ventilated, and vibration free horizontal workbench, and ensure good power grounding to avoid the risk of leakage.
Pressure head and sample installation:
Select the indenter according to the type of test: rounded indenter is used for thermal deformation test, and needle indenter is used for Vicat test. After fixing the pressure head to the load rod, place the sample under the pressure head.
The sample specifications must comply with the standards: the hot deformation test sample is usually 120mm × 10mm × 4mm, and the Vicat test sample is a sheet with a thickness of 3-6mm or a disc with a diameter greater than 10mm. The sample should be placed upright to avoid contact with both sides of the sample holder.
Parameter setting and zeroing:
After opening the software, the system enters the "boot screen". Press the "Mixing" button to complete the zero adjustment before the test, and start the temperature monitoring and deformation calibration. When adjusting to zero, ensure that the displacement sensor probe is in contact with the lower end of the weight tray, and lock the fixing part after adjusting to within the range of 2 ± 0.1mm.
Set experimental parameters, including maximum temperature (to prevent excessive oil temperature), temperature correction (to correct the difference between displayed temperature and standard temperature), heating rate (A=5 ℃/6min, B=12 ℃/6min), etc. After modification, click "Save" to take effect.
Loading weights and starting test:
Calculate the required load based on the type of experiment and sample size. For example, the Vicat test requires loading a weight of 10N (method A) or 50N (method B); The hot deformation test requires the selection of weight combinations based on the sample size and bending stress.
Place the weight flat on the tray, ensuring that the groove is facing upwards and aligned. After installing the displacement sensor, adjust its position to make the contact press on the weight, leaving 2-4mm space at the upper end.
Press the "Test" button to start the experiment. The equipment will stir for 5 minutes and then heat up at the set rate. During the experiment, the deformation, temperature, and real-time curve of the sample can be observed at any time.
Data recording and result processing:
When the deformation of the sample reaches the set value (such as 1mm in Vicat test), the PLC automatically records the current temperature and displays, processes, and saves it through the computer. After all three sets of sample racks reach deformation, the system automatically stops testing.
After the experiment is completed, the results will be automatically saved and can be viewed through historical data. The instrument is equipped with a micro printer that can print test reports for easy reference and archiving.
