The core elements of sterile laboratory planning and decoration
Date: 2025-06-05Read: 1
Aseptic laboratory planning and decorationThe core elements mainly include the following aspects:
1、 Site selection and layout
1. Site selection requirements: The sterile laboratory should be located in a place with sufficient light, good ventilation, and low air humidity, far away from living areas, transportation arteries, and boiler rooms to reduce interference from external pollution sources.
2. Layout design: A sterile laboratory usually consists of six parts: preparation room, washing room, sterilization room, sterile room, constant temperature cultivation room, and general laboratory. At the same time, the sterile laboratory should have two rooms, an inner sterile room and an outer buffer room, to facilitate air sterilization and prevent cross contamination. The overall layout should follow the principles of separating clean and dirty water, as well as separating pedestrian flow, and design clean and polluted channels.
2、 Building Structure and Materials
1. Durable and sturdy: All buildings in the sterile laboratory should be sturdy, durable, easy to maintain, and clean to prevent the invasion, habitat, and reproduction of harmful animals.
2. Ground materials: Non toxic, non slip, non permeable, non absorbent, crack free, and easy to clean and disinfect building materials should be used, such as acid resistant bricks, terrazzo, concrete, etc. The ground should have an appropriate slope (preferably 1.0%~1.5%) to facilitate drainage.
3. Walls and Doors and Windows: The walls of the sterile laboratory should be constructed with non-toxic, non absorbent, non permeable, mold proof, smooth, and easy to clean light colored materials, up to the roof. All door and window structures should adopt sealed frames that are rust proof, moisture-proof, and easy to clean to maintain the cleanliness of the experimental environment.

3、 Air treatment and purification
1. Air conditioning and circulation purification system: Aseptic laboratories must be equipped with efficient air conditioning and circulation purification systems to continuously filter out particles and pathogens in the air and maintain the cleanliness of the experimental area.
2. Pneumatic isolation system: By maintaining an appropriate pressure gradient, it ensures the correct direction of air flow between different areas of the laboratory, thereby avoiding cross contamination.
3. Ventilation equipment: The laboratory must be equipped with effective ventilation equipment, and the airflow should flow from clean areas to non clean areas. When using mechanical ventilation, the air exchange rate should be greater than 3 times per hour.
4、 Temperature and humidity control
The temperature of the sterile laboratory should be controlled between 15-27 ℃, and the humidity should be controlled below 50% to prevent the growth and reproduction of microorganisms. This helps maintain the stability and reliability of the experimental environment.
5、 Lighting and daylighting
The sterile laboratory should have sufficient natural or artificial lighting to ensure that the mixed illumination of the working surface in the processing area is not less than 300LUX, and the mixing and filling workshop should not be less than 800LUX. Good lighting conditions help experimenters observe the experimental process clearly and improve the accuracy of experimental results.
6、 Personnel and Material Management
1. Personnel and material transportation channels: To prevent cross contamination, separate personnel and material transportation channels should be established. Personnel access should strictly follow the requirements of clean room access and be equipped with insect proof facilities such as air curtains or two-way spring doors.
2. Purification facilities: At the entrance of the sterile laboratory, there should be separate purification facilities for personnel and materials to ensure that all personnel and materials entering the laboratory meet the sterile requirements.
The core elements of sterile laboratory planning and decoration involve multiple aspects, including site selection and layout, building structure and materials, air treatment and purification, temperature and humidity control, lighting and daylighting, as well as personnel and material management. The combined effect of these elements helps ensure the efficient operation and safety of sterile laboratories.
