There are several calibration methods for high-throughput optical sieves
Date: 2025-01-16Read: 1
There are several calibration methods for high-throughput optical sieves, including:
Standard light source comparison method
-Principle: Using a standard light source with known spectral characteristics and luminous flux, compare and measure it with a high-throughput optical sieve to be calibrated. By comparing the output signals or measurement results of the two under the same conditions, the calibration coefficient or error value of the optical sieve instrument is determined, thereby achieving calibration of the optical sieve instrument.
-Steps:
1. Choose a suitable standard light source, whose spectral characteristics and luminous flux should be accurately known and cover the working wavelength range of the high-throughput optical sieve instrument.
2. Place the standard light source at the measurement position of the light sieve instrument to ensure that the light evenly illuminates the detection components of the light sieve instrument.
3. Measure the output signals or measurement results of the standard light source and the light sieve instrument under the same conditions, such as photocurrent, voltage, etc.
4. Calculate the calibration coefficient or error value of the optical sieve instrument relative to the standard light source based on the measurement results.
5. Use the calibration coefficient or error value to calibrate the optical sieve instrument, so that its measurement results are closer to the true value.
Monochromator calibration method
-Principle: A monochromator can generate light of a single wavelength. By combining the monochromator with a high-throughput optical sieve, the response of the sieve at different wavelengths can be calibrated. At each wavelength, measure the sensitivity or transmittance of the optical sieve instrument for that wavelength of light, establish the wavelength response characteristic curve of the optical sieve instrument, and achieve accurate measurement of different wavelengths of light.
-Steps:
1. Introduce the output light of the monochromator into the measurement system of the high-throughput optical sieve to ensure that the light can accurately illuminate the detection components of the optical sieve.
2. Set the wavelength of the monochromator, starting from a shorter wavelength and gradually increasing the wavelength. After stabilizing at each wavelength for a period of time, measure the response signal of the light sieve to the light at that wavelength, such as photocurrent, voltage, etc.
3. Record the measurement results at different wavelengths and draw the wavelength response characteristic curve of the optical sieve instrument.
4. Based on the characteristic curve, correct the measurement results of the optical sieve instrument at different wavelengths to improve the accuracy of the measurement.
Filter calibration method
-Principle: Use a set of filters with known transmittance and spectral characteristics, place them in the measurement path of the optical sieve, and indirectly calibrate the optical sieve by measuring the transmittance of the filters. The transmittance of the filter is precisely measured and calibrated, and can be used as a standard reference value to verify and calibrate the measurement accuracy of the optical sieve instrument.
-Steps:
1. Choose a suitable set of filters whose transmittance and spectral characteristics should cover the operating wavelength range of the high-throughput optical sieve instrument, and have accurate calibration values within the required measurement accuracy range.
2. Insert the filter into the measuring light path of the optical sieve in sequence, ensuring that the surface of the filter is clean, flat, and perpendicular to the light path.
3. Measure the light signal intensity of the optical sieve after passing through the filter, and calculate the measurement error of the optical sieve at that wavelength based on the known transmittance of the filter and the measured light signal intensity.
4. Adjust or correct the light sieve instrument accordingly to ensure that its measurement results match the calibrated transmittance of the filter.
Integral sphere calibration method
-Principle: An integrating sphere is a spherical cavity with a high reflectivity inner wall, used to generate uniform diffuse reflection light. Place the measured light source into the integrating sphere, and the light emitted by the light source is reflected multiple times inside the integrating sphere to form a uniform lighting environment. By measuring the illuminance or radiated power inside the integrating sphere, the luminous flux and other parameters of the light source can be accurately measured and calibrated. For high-throughput optical sieves, the integrating sphere can be used in conjunction with the optical sieve to perform overall calibration of the measuring system of the optical sieve.
-Steps:
1. Place the light source to be calibrated in the center position of the integrating sphere, ensuring that the distance between the light source and the inner wall of the integrating sphere is moderate, and avoiding direct light shining on a local area of the sphere wall.
2. Activate the light source to generate uniform diffuse reflection light inside the integrating sphere.
3. Use measuring instruments such as illuminance meters or radiation power meters to measure the illuminance or radiation power at the opening of the integrating sphere.
4. Compare the measured illuminance or radiated power value with the known parameters of the light source to calculate the measurement error of the light sieve instrument.
5. Based on measurement errors, calibrate and adjust the optical sieve instrument to accurately measure parameters such as the luminous flux of the light source.
