Ten Prohibitions for Safe Operation and Daily Use Taboos of Packaging Oxygen Transmittance Tester
Date: 2025-10-16Read: 35
Packaging oxygen permeability testerIt is a key equipment for evaluating the oxygen barrier capacity of packaging materials, but its high-pressure gas and precision sensors require high operational safety. Mastering the "Ten Prohibitions" and daily taboos can effectively prevent equipment damage (such as sensor failure) and safety accidents (such as gas leakage and explosion).
1、 Ten Prohibitions for Safe Operation
1. Do not use in flammable and explosive environments: The instrument may generate trace electric sparks during operation, and it is strictly prohibited to operate in areas where flammable materials such as alcohol and gasoline are stored.
2. Non standard gases are not allowed: only high-purity oxygen and nitrogen are allowed as testing media, and the mixing of flammable or corrosive gases is prohibited, otherwise it may damage the sensor or cause an explosion.
3. No overpressure operation: The test pressure is strictly controlled at 0.1MPa ± 0.01MPa. Overpressure can cause deformation of the test chamber or overload of the sensor.
4. Direct testing without calibration is not allowed: The sensor needs to be calibrated with a standard film before each use, and the deviation of uncalibrated test results may be greater than ± 20%.
5. Do not block the gas pipeline: The test sample should be flat and wrinkle free to avoid blocking the gas inlet and outlet after folding.
6. Do not operate the power supply with wet hands: The device control panel contains electronic components, and pressing the button with wet hands may cause a short circuit.
7. It is not allowed to disassemble core components without authorization: sensors and solenoid valves are precision components, and disassembly by non professionals may result in loss of calibration parameters.
8. Do not run continuously for a long time: A single test should not exceed 8 hours. Exceeding the time limit will cause the sensor to overheat and affect the accuracy of subsequent tests.
9. Do not ignore leakage inspection: Before testing, all interfaces should be checked with soapy water. Leakage can cause unstable pressure in the testing chamber (oxygen permeability data fluctuation>± 10%).
10. Do not adjust parameters arbitrarily: Testing temperature, humidity, and other parameters must strictly comply with standards (such as ASTM D3985), and self modification may result in results that do not conform to industry standards (such as misjudging oxygen barrier performance in drug packaging).
2、 Daily usage taboos
Taboo 1: Failure to clean the sample residue in a timely manner after testing can corrode the inner wall of the testing chamber (affecting the sealing performance of subsequent testing).
Taboo 2: Long term disuse without removing the sensor protective cover (to prevent dust pollution and reduce detection sensitivity).
Taboo 3: Place the device in a damp environment and use a dehumidifier to keep the environment dry.
Taboo 4: Clean the instrument casing with organic solvents (such as alcohol).
Adhering to the "Ten Prohibitions" and taboos can makePackaging oxygen permeability testerSafe operation for more than 5 years, with test data deviation controlled within ± 3%, providing reliable basis for quality control of packaging materials.
