Online gas chromatography is mainly used for qualitative and quantitative analysis of gases or volatile substances

Online gas chromatograph is an analytical instrument used for real-time and continuous monitoring of gas or volatile liquid components. It achieves separation by vaporizing the sample and utilizing the difference in distribution coefficients of different components in the chromatographic column, and cooperates with a detector for qualitative and quantitative analysis.
Online gas chromatography is mainly used for qualitative and quantitative analysis of gases or volatile substances. Its working principle is to use the differences in boiling point, polarity, and adsorption properties of substances to achieve the separation of mixtures. Specifically, when the tested sample is vaporized in the vaporization chamber, it is carried into the chromatographic column by a carrier gas (usually an inert gas such as helium or nitrogen). In the chromatographic column, due to the different interaction forces between different substances and the stationary phase (materials inside the chromatographic column), their movement speed in the column will also be different, thus achieving separation. The separated substances will sequentially enter the detector, which converts them into electrical signals. These signals are amplified and recorded to form a chromatogram. Each peak on the chromatogram represents a component in the sample, and the position and size of the peak reflect the properties and content of that component, respectively.
Online gas chromatography is based on gas chromatography technology, which utilizes the difference in distribution coefficients between different substances in the gas phase and the stationary phase (liquid or solid phase) to achieve the separation of each component in the mixture. After gasification, the sample is carried into the chromatographic column by the carrier gas, where each component is separated due to different distribution coefficients. Then, it enters the detector (such as hydrogen flame ionization detector FID, thermal conductivity detector TCD, etc.) in sequence and is converted into an electrical signal, which is recorded and analyzed by the data processing system to obtain the concentration information of each component.
Advantages:
Quick detection: The analysis cycle is as short as a few minutes to tens of minutes, significantly reducing the detection time of traditional chromatographs and meeting the real-time data needs of industrial production, environmental monitoring, and other scenarios.
Fully automated operation: from sample injection to data processing, the entire process is automated, reducing manual intervention, minimizing human error, and improving work efficiency and result reproducibility.
Dynamic monitoring: It can continuously monitor the gas composition in the production process or environment, detect abnormalities in a timely manner, and adjust process parameters to ensure product quality stability and environmental safety.
Remote management: supports network connection, enables centralized monitoring of multiple devices, improves management efficiency, and is suitable for distributed monitoring networks.
